As someone who often watches back old Brits comps, I just want to say how awesome it is to see such a great line up and how far the sport has progressed in the last 10 years. Remember the days of random foreign athletes competing in Brits to make up the numbers? Although I expect the podium to look very familiar, there are so many athletes capable of getting in between the more experienced athletes, anything could happen. Particularly hoping Gav and Luke R stay healthy. Got my beers and my snacks ready (well planned cheat day obvs), can't wait!! Thanks as always for the great content and insight. Spoke to Matt D several times at UKs so routing for him, great guy. Heard he picked up an injury though, so assuming it's nothing too serious as he's not withdrawn. Good to hear Loz is coaching him too, great shout.

It’s interesting how winning a title puts you in a different category gives you so much more status but the actual performance of the events is never really discussed. Like if Aivars loaded the stone 0.1s faster at Europe’s he would have won instead of Luke. Or how Evan almost lost 3rd at WSM because he only loaded 3 stones. Just find it fascinating how the placing/result is talked about like it was a definitive of a victory it was when in reality it could have been really lucky placing because of how points might’ve fell.

He prolly has the best event winning percentage but drops so many points on deadlift. Should we just ignore the deadlift? Or Thor winning so many events at SMOE? Stoltman will lose too many points on steeplechase and deadlift ladder; could be only by 1s separating 2nd-6th. Flowers is coming in great shape and Bish looks good so I think 3 way battle for 1st likely with a chasing pack Stoltman, Bilton gaining places on the later log and stones events. Duck walk into Farmers could be decider between Bish and Richardson with Flowers needing an event top 2 to defend his podium from Stoltman. Mistakes in moving events will be costly as the field is packed with fast movers.

Hope Luke receives the reception and attention he deserves. Don't want your personal life and trash decisions judged? Don't build a brand off of it and advertise it everywhere, using it as a catapult for people to like you because you're supposedly being a good father and husband. Some of you seem to forget the audience these people solicit and try to capture with events and social media. If you want your kid(s) looking up to someone that cheats on their spouse with a fellow competitor from the same sport, then make a bumper-sticker out of it and own it. Wild concept but you can have more than your god(s) judge you. I promise it's possible and when you f up, you don't get to hide behind that or get to dismiss yourself of accountability.

He has also now moved one of his side-pieces into the marital home 12 days after his wife left the home with his son. I believe his mental health sponsors are in talks to terminate his contract also, due to the abusive messages and threats he's sent people. In summary, he's a scumbag. thankfully he's not relevant at world level in this sport so will retire soon. 🙂

He was married in the Christian belief, where "forgiveness","second chances"and "for better, for worse" is preached ..... and yet his wife hangs him out to dry. We only have her word for what has happened, and she is hurt. Hurt people tend to say harsh things, sometimes even things out of proportion to reality. IF he had an affair, maybe there was more to it than him being evil. Maybe something in their partnership (in which they are two) did not work. Maybe they could have worked it out .... "For better, for worse"...., instead of going ballistic on social media. No matter what might have happened, it belongs in the Stoltman private sphere, not in the public. I do not judge a man on rumours. I like Luke as the skilled strongman, he is, and I look forward to seeing him in competition.
