That steam system looks awesome! Damn, seeing this just before Christmas may just compromise the festive budget.

I saw that in another video before and I hope this eventually becomes more widespread and catches on to HO scale steam locomotives from other countries. This might even make the Thomas fans who collect OO/HO happy and make their layouts resemble the larger scale stuff in the old TV series. I could easily imagine the German HO locomotives literrally resembling their larger KM1 counterparts with this.

Very well presented, thank you. Definitely one of the better upgrades of modelling

Really loved this - beautiful night shot

That is an impressive looking system but I guess you’d need a hefty money pit to convert a large collection. All it needs now is the safety valve blow out.

OMG that is absolutely amazing! I did wonder if drain cock steam would ever be possible in OO. Now it might be a big ask, but I wonder if they can make a OO A4 with the “Vee” of the steam whistle around the funnel (one of Gresley’s magical touches).

This is out of this world good. But, there was another way someone else did it in the past on their layout, they had the smoke generator hidden under the track in the platform so when the train pulled out it looked nice. But obviously that wasn't on the loco. Still a fun way to add something to the layout though.

Mate that is really impressive👍👍. Great workmanship and detail it brings it to another level.

Great video Matt they both looked and sounded great but it isn’t something I’m going to be doing to my locomotives, I liked those lamps on the duchess though they looked great and would be something I may like to have on my locomotives.

not to ruin the fun, But pro tip: the cold water system TRS uses for these mods is basically just using atomizer discs found in humidifiers and reptile fog machines. but it does creat an awesome effect. but definitely someone with some basic Cad knowledge can whipe up for themselves if they dont wanna pay for the service.
@MrSnowFoxy6 ай бұрын
OH i forgot to mention, these systems can be REALLY compact. which is how he got it in OO guage. for anyone who likes that kjinda engineering knowledge I highly suggest you actually learn how those ultra-sonic fog machines for humidifiers work, because these Ultra-sonic disc can be made compact with a wick to keep water supplied. just the smaller your water tank inside the less run time the unit has.

Der Sound ist fantastisch und auch der Dampf aus Schornstein und Zylinderventilen wirkt überzeugend. Schade, dass für diese Effekte die Walschaert-Steuerung geopfert wurde!

HORNBY programme, channel Yesterday, Monday nights ,they showed this water steam smoke in operation
@andrewdking2 жыл бұрын
Its not smoke nor steam, its water vapour. I'm guessing smokers vape technology must be in there ? It costs a fortune to fit, with each loco custom reengineered to fit the system in. A mate of mine is currently having two locos done, at an eye watering £600 ish each, which already have sound fitted. You have been warned ! I've heard, Hornby are working on a system of their own. My superb diecast metal Dapol Black Label A4 has a factory fitted oil smoke generator. This also has sound and lights as standard. Its smoke is also synchronised and has whistle smoke, but not sure about cylinder drain cocks. Its a lot cheaper IF you can find one
@rogertaylor89242 жыл бұрын
Noticed you never told us the price for this gimmick smoke £160 sound £140 lamps £65 drain cocks £100 plus the price of the loco. No1 its not smoke its steam No2 it come from some where in the middle not from the drain cocks No3 doesnt look real or last long enough as a real train would
@trstrains93302 жыл бұрын
It isn't steam it is water vapour for 1. 2 yes is comes from between the cylinders. 3, the Hornby live steam locos that literally produce real steam don't look like steam. Even in 5 inch gauge it doesn't look really. It's about getting it to look as good as possible within the limits of what's available. I appreciate your comments 👍
