Satara Lion pride in Sweni territory and Mayambula male takes over their meal -Kruger National Park
We got a report of a pride of lions who had caught a zebra on the S126 which forms part of the Sweni prides territory. Upon arriving at the sighting the pride of lions were part of the Satara pride controlled by the 4 Shishangaan males (Casper and his brothers).
It’s not often they go that far south, we wondered if the Mayambula males would come and take over the zebra through the night. Upon returning in the morning the Mayambula male missing the tip of his tail was on the scene and the Satara lioness were about 1km north of him assuming he chased them off during the night.
On the third day we returned again and only the same Mayambula male was in the area.
So some really interesting dynamics happening between the Sweni and Satara lion prides.
For now it appears the Mayambula males have taken over a portion of the Sweni pride but we wonder if a potential clash of territories between the Mayambula and Shishangaan lion coalitions is brewing especially with the Satara pride venturing into their territory.

Looks like lionesses were not so hungry anyway. They were walking around, taking few bites and walking around and lying down again. Lions dont have fridge in savannah, so that zebra carcass began rot fast in hot African summer. Pretty soon it becomes so bad, even male does not want it . But not to worry, hyenas and vultures consume every leftover scraps there are

Where was the shrish brothers? Mayanbula lions are 6 of them sad they lost their meal. They had a good feed before it was taking. It looks like it was only 2 manyanbula Males. Those matimba blood they are goodlooking males

Yes they are over the Satara. But if the Mayanbula coalition is just south of Casper & Brothers. It's going to be a bad ordeal if the two coalition tango.

They are the sons of Mbiri males Shaka and zigzag they have that Matimba blood line ginger and hairybelly two of this most successful duo ever also the one of the biggest lions

Yep, the mayanbula females are some of the bigger females also. Those girls are very impressive. I haven’t seen them in a while since the vuyela males ran them out of most of their timbavati territories

@@gigidawide6033 Ginger and HB have only one daughter sired after the split with the northern Matimbas. They are only very successful as a coalition of 6. Mbiris are very likely sons of the Northern Matimbas since they were basically completely split by mid-late 2013.

Do you think Shish males even stand a chance against Mayambula males? I mean Shish males do not look great lately, opposite to Mayambulas which look much like powerouses their fathers were and on top of that are outnumbering Shish males. would you agree or do you have different take on that?

Shishangaan are in good shape lately. The weak male has recovered I think. Mayambulas are often split, but so does the Shish. 4 are still a big enough coalition that it may he enough even against 6 depending of how a clash happens. But overall the Mayambulas indeed have the upper hand.

I think they can fight them but idk who would win with numbers its hard to say I would like to say experience and knowing the land will prevail but I'm just not sure with these boys being 6 💪.

The Mayambula are 6 strong compared to 4 which makes a huge difference if they bumped heads and it was 6 against 4 . When has Casper and bros ever fought another coalition ? I believe the roar of 4 lions has kept them safe from invading nomads. The Mayambula's haven't had to much rec either so both coalitions lack experience but when those hormones and testosterone get to heating up who knows
