Southern pride males on patrol returning the calls of the Trichardt male lions in the Kruger National Park South Africa
In this video 3 of the Southern pride males are on patrol with 2 of the males,making the Trichardt males aware of their presence by roaring.
The southern pride males are originally 7 male lions who originate from the Northern pride who resided around the S41/S90. The 7 males took over the southern pride in 2021 as well as fathering their first litter of cubs. The southern pride hold a territory along the H6 mainly between Shishangani waterwhole and N’wanetsi picnic spot. Currently only 3 or 4 males are seen together. Which leaves a question mark if the other 3 males have split up. The presence of the Trichardt males has gotten these boys on high alert. Frequently patrolling around N’wanetsi picnic site, returning the calls of the Trichardt males who have been very vocal in the area in the pursuit of the Shishangaan lion pride. Exciting to have these two impressive lion coalitions in the same area.

Handsome Lions💞they have to stick together to stand up to the Trichardt males💞and not lose their territory...the best thing is for everyone to stay on their land. Could it be the Southern males who fought with the Trichardts and seriously injured one of the brothers (the one who walks on three legs)? And what happened to the other brothers of the Southern males?? Have you seen them since the separation? I hope they are well... Thank you for the video🙂

Why do the lions ignore and not attack the cars/trucks that are obviously following them and making noise as they start their vehicles. I’m always amazed by this as I’ve watched so many videos where humans get in the way, but the lions don’t attack the humans or their vehicles.

Problem with Kruger is it’s too accessible to anyone in South Africa with a car. That’s why I never wanted to go there. Much prefer Botswana and Zambia.
