I carried a light this size for over a decade, but since switching to a shorter profile, I don't think I could go back. I still have several longer ones in each vehicle & various tools pouches, and that would ultimately be what this one landed (so the clip would be an issue in that case) I like the amount of light it puts off for sure.

That is a sweet flashlight but i do agree with you, that pocket clip is in the wrong spot. The light would be great for on a pack for hiking and such. I would definitely use it.

brotha jb, i have a older model thru-nite tactical light here , its 1100 lumens and they've replaced all i asked for for free , basically everything but battery , shipped to me , they are cool to work with n talk too , thanks for sharing n we'll talk soon brotha > tom !

@@BigRedEDC but this sofirn light here i cannot figure out how to lock it out so it does not come on in my pouch/pocket/etc , i know its 4 clicks really fast but its not working , i love the light but for now i cannot e.d.c. on my person like i wanted too so until i figure it out it 'll be a backup option i guess , talk soon > tom !

Yeah the Archer series is a good series of lights the flashlight community has been asking them to please raise the pocket clip also maybe someday they will listen to us like the knife manufacturers do thx JB

As far as pen lights go this and the Nitecore MT2A Pro are very similar and are at the top of the heap for pen lights. Big Red you might like the Nitecore better its a little more powerful and has the clip at the tail end. Pen lights are specialty lights and purpose driven. Not great for EDC. Its good that both companies have gone to a large rechargeable battery for pen light, it is what has been needed for a long time.

I'm not sure who uses this form factor light. I've seen exactly ONE mechanic use one for under car inspections. Personally I find them awkward. The single size version Archer 1A is another story. I have several and find them a great pocket light, if you know the secret. While they say its a regular 1.5v AA light, if you put a 14500 lithium battery(3.7v) in it you double the output. The trick is, virtually all LED emitters run on 3.7v nominal (4.2v max) current so you're pretty safe upgrading most LED flashlights in this way. Be prepared, though, if you're wrong and ruin a light. In a couple dozen plus lights I've destroyed exactly 1 due to over voltage. Just don't try this with a double cell light like in the video, this will definitely destroy the light. I've been enjoying the benefits of this "new" model for near 10 years by using a single 14500 and a spacer cell. No, it doesn't have the same runtime but I've been doing it for a decade before anyone made a 141000 cell! Happy lumens.

This one looks a little long for a comfortable pocket carry. They should have designed it so the clip could be placed towards the end if you wanted to move it.
