Wow i remember the UIC Pavillion over off Roosevelt down the street from jew town man those were the days!!! And you could tell Hardaway was pro material because he was so posed i remember watching him in the early 90's in Leclaire Park when he was with Golden State dude had game. Along with Brian Leech (r.i.p) and others!!!

great video. love the old school hoops. Growing up in boston, we knew all about the great players in new york and Washington DC. But we didnt really know all about the great players out of chicago. We knew they were there. but didnt really get to see them.

The reason why these players could shoot better was because there was no 3-point shot. Back then, players always practiced the mid-range jump shot at the playgrounds and practices. They were not shooting bad, long 3-point shots like they do now. Players nowadays only know how to shoot very long, bad 3-point shots and layups.

R Kelly was never a basketball star in Chicago. I don't think he ever played a high school game. He did not go to Simeon with Ben Wilson so I'm not sure what he has to do with this story. He may have played pickup ball in the parks with Ben Wilson once or twice. Double check your facts please.
