Brian, W7BJN, put up a 90 foot TRI-EX TM490 crank up tower and a steppIR DB-36 yagi at the top. This video documents that effort.

Am I confused about the bolts? They look like they only threaded into the ground about 1"? I have installed many light poles and we always installed the anchor bolts with the concrete pour. The bolts protrude from the concrete and the light pole is set onto them.

As my Elmer taught me, what goes up, must come down. It doesn't matter how heavy it is, eventually it will fail. Too many people puts too much emphasis on 80 meters because that is where all the idiots hang out at night. You noticed he said DB, but with no reference, DBI or DBD...

hope you grounded all 3 legs of the tower, and high on the tower legs. you dont want lightning to hit the concret to distroy or crack the base. Futher more the system to control the antenna does not like lightning a surge will wipe out that system easily......GOOD LUCK !! nice install !!! w2ot. Great... You win. Nothing more to say other than you win with all your awards, resources and money. Interestingly enough, 99% of all Hams around the world could not afford anything close to what you have. You should have awards with the amount of money you spent in amateur equipment. I am happy talking 10 meters over seas on only 60 watts and a wire in my tree. By the way... I did achieve my Technician, General, and Amateur Extra in three months. I have that going for me....
