I enjoy seeing folks mowing around fields after harvest in addition to the harvest itself. That's something you don't see a lot of in videos is the mowing!

Wow,what long long day running those combines.When a crop is flat you work hard all day keeping the combine moving.Yes I have done some of that work in my farm in days.Hat off the those combine operators.My neck is sore just watching them.

Great Video! Lots of different farm equipment in action but my favorite was the farm truck pulling both header carts down the road. Then you even caught the guy coming at you with the Dodge diesel truck with the smoke stacks in the bed, tow mirrors all the way out and a Cat license plate on his truck. That made me laugh!

Will they use the same heads to cut the beans ?an do you think we will ever see self propelled grain carts ?
@bigtractorpower7 жыл бұрын
They use these MacDons in the beans as well. There are home made sp carts out there. The cart tractor in this video also does tillage in the fall so it has double duty which is cost effective.

How come all the case combines in your videos have the horizontal dual disc spreaders. Compared to the vertical spreaders. We have lots of combines in our area with the vertical ones and they dot seem to have any problems.

+Azzi61 I do not know. It must be the option farmers prefer in Kentucky.

It's cause New Holland owns them now and they changed it to copy the New Holland combine, instead of the old International style like you mentioned in your area.

So double-cropping beans on wheat is not a bonus, it is mandatory to stay viable, correct. The world's cupboard is well stocked with wheat. Another large crop worldwide and I see the early 80's all over again. To much over-production. Markets are flooded. JMHO

What is the normal month to harvest wheat in Kentucky? I seeded my wheat 15 october (Belgium) and its just coming in bloom . Can these farmers make any profit with yields between 80-100 bushels ? Around here everything is so freaking expensive that if you can not use your own grain for your own cattle and you have to sell it ; you will not make any profit with less than 150 bushels/acre . Corn ,wheat ,barley ,sugarbeets ,most of the vegetables it is all loss around here . Potatoes are sometimes good , some vegetables ( the ones with a lot of manual work ) and then you have asparagus which is always good and is called the "white gold" .
@kentuckyfarmer11297 жыл бұрын
jacky bruckers mid June normally is when wheat stares about 2 week early This year
@bigtractorpower7 жыл бұрын
How cold and how much snow did you have over the winter in Belgium? There was no snow in this part of Kentucky or really even any ground freezing weather to stunt the wheat so it came in early. The wheat will do ok this year as far as money. You also have to factor in this field will yield a crop of soybeans in the same year as the wheat. Taking two crops from the same field in the same year makes the wheat well worth while.
