Pretty slick. Wish I woulda seen this before heading to Oriellys after losing my last adapter.

I have a 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with a 2.5” receiver that I reduce to 2” for my WDH and a Rockwood Ultra Light Travel trailer. I need to extend the hitch receiver out 2” because when I open the tailgate with the trailer connected the tailgate hits the head of the electric a-frame jack, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I feel like it's less for rattle reduction and more for the ability to leave the reducer sleeve in the hitch when you take the ball mount out. Looks like a good product though.

If you use this product and intend on leaving it installed, putting the pin back in the receiver after removing the ball mount will make it more secure. Magnets will likely keep it there, but they are not going to hold better than the pin. I'd feel better driving behind someone down the interstate that had it pinned. Especially I-95.
@95dodgev109 ай бұрын
Absolutely should have the pin in if you're going to leave the reducer in. Will the magnets keep it in? Probably, but what if they don't? You're going to have a fun conversation with a state trooper when they pull up behind you cause your reducer went through someones windshield or any number of other hypothetical scenarios. Not worth the risk for the 2 seconds it takes to put the pin back in. The magnets should only be relied on for noise reduction when there isn't a trailer on the hitch.

Why not bite the bullet and use the right size hitch the receiver and truck were designed for.

What if your receiver and tow bar pin holes are different? You showed the slot in the adapter but what if the receiver and tow bar are different manufacturers and the holes don’t line up?

I missed it, what are we trying to solve?

Cool and maybe i not lose it if I forgot the pin after taking the hitch out. Ask me why i cary a back up lol
@kevinkidney79239 ай бұрын
For sure. A coworker had a reducer come though is windshield on the interstate. Too easy to forget to put the pin back in. I've done it, too, but luckily it didn't back all the way out before I noticed it.

This is great! Once I forgot to put the hitch pin back in place after I removed my 2"stinger and took off to go to the store. I thought for sure my 2 1/2" reducer was gone and pulled over to take a look. Luckily it was still there, most of the way out and barely hanging on. Something like this would solve that problem.

Great product. Now for some constructive criticism. I've watched and subscribed to your channel a long time. Lately maybe its me i dont know. But you drone on a lot, seems more so as of late, causing me to ffwd more than I used to. I don't say this to be mean, as i generally enjoy your videos. Maybe it's me. Cheers.

This fixes the problem I have with my 2021 F350 when I pull my utility trailer

My 2023 F350 has a 2 1/2 inch receiver and that’s all I have is 2 inch hitches from previous versions.

I put some strips of black gorilla tape on my sleeve to stop the slop and chattering. My sleeve was about half that price. But if I was buying a new one I would definitely spring the extra bucks for this. Great idea!

My Ram came with an adapter but it wobbles so much I actually thought it was unsafe. I think I’m gonna try this.

Very cool and innovative idea. Thanks for sharing. I like how they used those heavy duty magnets, you don’t want to lose inerts.

That's a great idea! I hate the rattle i get from the reducer on my 2500hd when i don't have any weight on it

Nice way to reduce and quiet it up. But the most important part is the reducers reduce the load rating from class 5 to class 3 or 4 and most 2" recievers arent rated to tow what the new 3/4 and 1 ton trucks can tow. So use all this at your own risk.
@RadDadisRad9 ай бұрын
Hitches are sized according to their towing requirements. A class 5 reduced to class 3 is fine because the load is rated to a max of a class 3 rating. You gain the stability of a class 5 truck hauling a class 3 load.
@MHConstruction_MN9 ай бұрын
@@RadDadisRad exactly you reduce the rating to the smaller size not maintain the higher class 5 rating by reducing
@ColtonRMagby9 ай бұрын
Another good idea would be to just buy the right shank size, but this makes sense for if you are short on cash for something like that or only have one vehicle with that size receiver. Then again, you could always have a set of shanks for each vehicle with the right size balls ready to go, but to each their own.

Not everything comes in 2.5”, especially bikes racks and other accessories. All they come is 2”
