@@matmatcorner4235 Incorrect. The drivetrain is a co-development between MAN and Scania under their parent company TRATON (Volkswagen). The engine is the Common Base Engine 1, started development in 2021. MAN designation is D30, Scania designation is DC13.

Because it ain't... On the contrary, the "new" inline six in Scania is a MAN engine. And the V8 Scania use is in reality the old MAN v8

The famous 14 liter V8 Scania had, was in reality a MACK engine, the V8 that Scania use today is in reality a MAN engine, exactly like the inline six "super" engine. When Scania came with 500 hp they HAD to get new gearboxes because the 10 speed boxes Scania had was rubbish. The 12 step gearbox Scania use today is in reality a Volvo gearbox. Scania is unmatched when it comes to branding and advertising, but they just can't make good trucks

@@Z4N7 Can't argue with your statement but ,new gen trucks are indeed rubbish ! We have 14 brans new MAN 8x4 heavy duty tractor units in the fleet , from day 1 they went straight into the shop ...all electronic and electrical issues , the EBS fuse for example needs to be replaced weekly , i even seen one with airbags mounted wrong from the factory , air connections are popping out when cold all the time ., the dashboard goes all black while you driving and many more other problems

@@enesberk5359 Doesen't matter which used it first. Was developed by a team of 120 MAN and Scania engineers starting 2017. Was from the beginning ment to be enter service with Scania in 2021 and MAN in 2025 because Scania needed newer engines sooner. So no, Scania using a Scania/MAN developed engine sooner than MAN doesen't make it a Scania-only engine. 80% of the engine is common, the other 20% are manufacturer depending, that's why they have different designations.
