Just watched Michaela Kiersch's ascent of this climb and had to come back and watch this gem too. From the start Chris dyno's and cuts feet on the first few moves....Michaela doesn't dyno or cut feet unless necessary. Lots of love for Chris, but I need to climb more like Michaela. Thanks Chris for this amazing FA!

I got to the base of it, and also scrambled up to the slab where you can get a great view of it.

probably about just that few feet and then he slipped and died and that is why no response

This took me back to when I could still boulder. Chronic illness keeps me from staying on a wall very long now. I was never even close to this level at all but I used to watch these films and just vibe and be inspired to even try.

I hate how everyone tries to compare Honnold and Sharma. They are two truly amazing climbers. They have totally different styles of climbing and are both the best or at least one of the best at what they do.
@mjaxdes10 жыл бұрын
because Honnold doesn't ropes.

Sharma/Ondra - best sport climbers Honnold - best free solo climber Trotter - best trad climber None of them could do what the others do, they are in different categories

mjaxdes lol ... 90% of Honnold climbs are roped.. he said himself in an interview.. but that doesnt make a difference.. he is one of the best!

Magnificent. I appreciated the inclusion of the first part of the video. It's easy to forget how many failures precede success, and how much effort and determination it takes to push through.

In Moccasyms too! Really goes to show that it's not the shoes that make the climber! Btw, not bagging on Moccasyms at all. They are my first pair for shoes and I still wear them all the time because of how comfortable (and odorless) they are.
@Johnguy939 жыл бұрын
He did hardly use his feet though.. lol
@JerrafurOscar9 жыл бұрын
John Guy Very true. Having climbed in them for well over a year, I learned they are pretty bad for heel hooking because as slip-ons they have a tendency of making your feet slip out of them more easily - another thing that really impressed me.

@Chance-ry1hq5 жыл бұрын
Troy Cushman Falling off a rock face a 1000 times, until you have covered it with 30lbs of chalk, so you can eventually hang on, is not good climbing. Screaming like a banshee every time you exert yourself is not good climbing. The “porno music” is a perfect fit for this nonsense.

You can't protect that climb. It would only take micro nuts and they would blow right out after a fall. Only a fool would trad climb this route.
@everythingviral9726 жыл бұрын
There are definitely spots in the video where you can see possibility for bomber placements, but they are sooo far from the beginning of the climb. I totally disagree that you oculdn't protect it though, it would ust take you running it out through ridiculously hard moves. Not realistic, but for sure there are spots that go super deep where you could fit many small cams. Too bad there aren't any other spots for placements earlier in the line.
