Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey is hogging national media limelight for his proactive statements in response to actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. But this is not for the first time his career has seen several such incidents, which are now tumbling out of the closet alongside his ‘Robinhood’ image. Being his political ambition. On March 2009, Gupteshwar Pandey took voluntary retirement to contest Lok Sabha election. However, he could not get the ticket and then he decided to return to the IPS fold, and applied for reinstatement into service.
He was in limelight when he got involved in the Navaruna abduction and murder case in 2012 in Muzaffarpur. Then serving as ADG, Pandey led the investigation of a 12-year Bengali girl. बहुत साल पहले गुप्तेश्वरजी से फेसबुक पर बात हुई थी । उन्होंने मुझसे कभी मिलने कहा था जो मैं भूल गया था‌। पता नहीं मेरे बारे में किसने क्या कहा था। मैं एक डाक्टर हूं पर संस्कृत और मैथिली भाषा का प्रचारक भी।अनेक संगठनों का काम करने घूमता भी रहता हूं,अपनी छूट्टी ले। एक याद सही या ग़लत हो रही है कि कभी दशकों पहले इनको रांची में बंगला स्कूल में किसी कार्यक्रम में देखा था। आज इनके बारे में बहुत कुछ जानने का अवसर और उसके द्वारा बिहार के बीभत्स दिनों की जानकारी मिली। मैं सरकारी नौकरी के बाद जशवंत सिन्हा,आरके सिंह या जेनरल वीके सिंह या सिनेमाघरों हीरोइन हीरो या पैसे वालों को भाजपा का टिकट मिलने का विरोधी रहा हूं क्योंकि उनका सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता का रिकार्ड नहीं रहा और इस दृष्टि से कलाम साहेब को राष्ट्रपति बनाए जाने का भी। पर पांडेजी का मन है तो जरूर आवें वैसे उनकी जीत किसी दल के जातीय आधार पर ही होगी ,अच्छे लोग स्वतंत्र जीत नहीं पाए अभी तक देश में कहीं भी। केजरीवाल ने नौकरी काफी पहले छोड़ दिया था उसे जनता ने उठाया भी पर वह भ्रष्टाचार की जगह हिन्दुत्व को सांप्रदायिकता समझ लड़ने लगा। पांडेजी भंगघुटे कुंएमे मांग तो नहीं पीएंगे पर काजल की कोठरी से बिना कालिख के जरूर लौटेंगे। डा धनाकर ठाकुर 9430141788

Really enjoyed the interview with DGP Gupteshwar. I recollect as a child in the early nineties following the news on the incessant caste wars in Bihar. It was fascinating to hear from a senior police officer about community policing and community mobilizing mechanisms to curtail conflict in those years.
