Bohag Bihu or Rongali Bihu (Assamese: ব’হাগ বিহু বা ৰঙালী বিহু) also called Xaat Bihu (Assamese: সাত বিহু) (seven Bihus) is a traditional aboriginal ethnic festival celebrated in the Northeastern Indian state of Assam and other parts of northeastern India by the indigenous ethnic groups of Assam, and marks the beginning of the Assamese New Year. The festival is of mostly aboriginal origin comprising Tibeto-Burman, Austro-Dravidian, Tai and Alpine elements. It usually falls in the 2nd week of April, historically signifying the time of harvest. This year it falls on 14th of April 2020 [1] The holiday unites the different native communities of Assam regardless of their backgrounds and promotes the celebration of ethnic diversity.

Actually Assamese peoples have to make a dish of 101 vegetable's in Bihu days which is not available now a days so they eat the eegs of red insect (chitti) bcoz chitti used to gather/collect varieties of foods to their nest...so its equal to 101 vegetable...if I'm wrong then please forgive me....

Hei this is actually my first time watching your Video and loved it BTW I'm from Odisha and on 14th of April here we celebrate as Pana sankarati (A drink made out of Bel fruit) and as like In Assam on this day they celebrate Bohag Bihu and different Festivals in each corner of India.well to be honest I'm not Assmese but I can understand the Language cause assamese ,bengali , Odia sounds similar but lil bit pronounciation difference that's it ,that means I can speak Assamese as well
