watching the game from Jecka's perspective is so much different, despite her and Nicole going through similar experiences, Jecka's is so much more disturbing to watch since she actually reacts normally. Nicole treats everything like a joke so in a way it reminds you that it's just a game and it's not real, but Jecka's humane reactions compared to Nicole's just feel different to watch. The ending with Emily dying in the re-up from self-over dose was horrible, sure, but it didn't make me wince when I looked at the art of her down on the floor since Nicole mumbles on about how cool she is like nothing mattered. but seeing Jecka react emotionally and so humane to someone she hated dying (even if it was for money) was such a big change from Emily overdosing or Kylar breaking his legs, even when Jeffery dying was Nicole's fault. another thing is the difference between Jecka's and Nicole's opinions on selling their bodies. while Nicole uses it to blackmail, openingly guilting Jecka with it and mainly doesn't care too much, Jecka stutters when she talks about it and was completely humiliated to even think about what she was doing.

Without spoiling anything, let me note the differences: -MC change -Family Situation is Different -The tone is different (lot darker, in a different way) -The timeframe is different -Modern Slang (later on, slop gets mentioned, canon and a few others I forgot) And I would describe more but that would spoil things. I think this didnt land for you because you had a preconceived expectation that it would just be Class of 09 again. Its the flipside, the point is that its opposite to Class of 09 in some aspects ⚰️
