That chain needs to be lubricated again since you ran it through a chain cleaner. Also, the top tub protector will do more harm than good because it will trap grit and grind it into the finish.

Thanks for comment. Yeh, I mentioned later on in the video that everything has to be lubricated again. (Another video coming for that since so many don't know how to maintain their bikes) I use the top tube protector because my bike rack on the truck uses shepherds hooks across the top bar. Without the protector, the shepherd hook would completely ruin the paint because we go on very long trips and the rubbing would eat it up. The protector is cleaned on the inside regularly. To date, out of 5 bikes I use it on, none of them have any scratches thanks to it. But you are absolutely right, if you let dirt get under it, it will scratch it up.

That's a great idea. I asked the Trek dealer and they don't have fenders for it. I don't normally even take my bikes through mud or sand. I just got caught up in it unexpectedly. Thanks for the best wishes. I'll be posting a time lapse of the 128 mile ride. Keep an eye open for it!

Just wanted to let you know, the domane now has fenders. Should help keep the dirt off the bike for sure. Thanks for the push to go look them up myself and go by the Trek store and get them. Not a big fan of fenders but with the motor and battery under the bike, it makes sense to do it on this one.
