Thanks Simon. I have been wondering about solutions for mine which I use for audax. I’ve settled on your plan but using a slightly deeper entomological vile. The D2 is wrapped in a scrap of road inner tube with the cables and closed off with a cable tie. The vile itself is wrapped in a scrap of MTB inner tube to provide silence when rattling around in the bag. That in turn is closed off with a cable tie. Sadly I can’t fit a packet of silica gel in there. Nothing’s perfect 😉

hey Simon, there is no problem with heating up in the canistor? The Igaro D2 will not be overheating?

i'll get a bike with a dynamo in a couple of weeks. looked at many usb chargers, and was wondering: How i'm gonna have the D2 a bit saver? Was planing to make a 3d printed case and stuff.. But instead..i'll copy your idea! This is great, thank you!

What was your experiences since you mounted it. USB C gives more power and needs often specials cables. Did you loose power when changing to USB A?

Hi Simon Very useful video. I'm just about to buy an Igaro D2 so your info is great and I may follow your design or similar. I'm not an electrician so wonder about the size of the wires you use. Can they be any guage/thickness? Also it's not possible to see clearly the connectors in the video that are on the end of the wires when you push them onto the 2 wire prongs on the unit. What wire connectors do you use? Can you gjve more details or show another video with better close up shots? But many thanks for all your help. Kevin

Hello Kevin, I used wires that are used with Arduino devices. They are just single pin connectors on the end of thin wires. The current is very small so you don’t need thick cables. Ones like www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262202347968

@@simonssubjects68 Hi Simon, many thanks for you quick reply. I’ll go ahead with your suggestion. By the way.......Igaro have now suspended all sales of the Igaro D2 due to some electric circuit problems which had been causing device failure for many users. I had just bought the last unit from an online seller without realising the product re-call. So I’ll have to wait until they issue a new version, which the Igaro site states should be released around Dec 2020 this year. So the newer, upgraded version should be better in all respects to the present D2 and certainly the older D1. Kevin

@@simonssubjects68 Hi again Simon, just to add to my last comment with regard to Igaro D2 suspended sales. I wonder what dynamo you are using with your setup? Many thanks for all your information here which is great for non electrical minded people like me! Kevin

I bought a Igaro D2 Pro R3, what a piece of junk. Claims to be water proof, capacitors and circuit board exposed, $230 for what? It looks like a child's science project, connected directly to a son dynamo kept getting 1 red light only which means i'm not going fast enough according to the manufacturer. I was going 20 mph and it was still blinking red. Useless overpriced junk buy somethign else

have you contacted the manufacturer? sounds faulty. its also waterproof after you silicone seal it.

@@KeiranKav manufacturer claims it's waterproof as delivered, i'm not playing mechanic on a $230 piece of equipment that then they wont accept a return on because it tried to fix their waterproofing
