Thank you so much for sharing such a cool adventure! This is the perfect bike touring trail I was looking for to enjoy beautiful east central Indiana. Wish it was a bit closer to home (KY) but I'm sure it'll be worth the drive!
@DeniseLookingOut2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. It is worth the trek. We will eventually have a 60-mile rail-trail in Louisville area called the Monon South on the Indiana side up to Bedford, which means we’ll be able to bike on a trail to Hoosier National Forest.
@scientia_potentia_est2 жыл бұрын
@@DeniseLookingOut oh didn't know about that project. That's such exciting news! Looks like the Ohio River Greenway would be connected to that new South Monon Freedom Trail. Hopefully state funding comes through for the rest of the project soon! 🤞 Can't wait! Hopefully they start with some other expansion to the Ohio River Greenway as well. Gotta say, it's really cool seeing New Albany local government and the state of Indiana in general getting serious about the Rails to Trails initiative. One of the many reasons I'm looking forward to moving to Jeffersonville/News Albany area very soon!
@DeniseLookingOut2 жыл бұрын
@@scientia_potentia_est Awesome. This area is great. Yeah that with Origins Park which will be similar to The Parklands and the Ohio River Greenway expanded east to the East End Bridge. My dream is a trail that goes to Charlestown State Park.

Biked Gaston to Richmond today. (09/13/24) . Very nice trail but very few services or water along the way. I packed 4 liters and used it all. Luckily there is a Dollar General in Losantville where I bought two more liters. Very good trail but let me tell you it ISN'T level by any means! I climbed most of the day and the constant headwind made it worse. I did it though! 52 miles at average of only 8.8 mph. $82 Baymont hotel in Richmond is very good deal!❤

Hello Denise. My wife and I are planning to ride this trail and want to start at Medford and head south. If we want to ride out about 20-30 miles and turnaround is Williamsburg the best place to find a place to eat before make the turnaround? I could not find any Information for places to eat in towns of Webster or williamsburg. Any advice would be great!
@DeniseLookingOut2 жыл бұрын
Hi David, I would plan on a picnic. I love that area because it’s so rural. But there’s just not anything in those areas. The only option in that section is Losantville. Even there, it’s one spot Pizza Barn or gas station, Dollar General. You could plan your mileage to use Richmond or Muncie as your turn around. If you do that and need recommendations, let me know.

Another great video Denise. Would you happen to know why they didn't reuse the railroad bridge crossing White River off McCulloch Blvd? Hate to say this but the best part of the video was at the end. Nightfall, moon lit sky and the sounds of Mother Nature. God, I miss that and can't wait for 2021 to get here.
@DeniseLookingOut3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the evening was my favorite part, too. That’s a good question on the rail bridge. I agree! Come on 2021!!! I can only guess that structurally it was too expensive to restore. However, CG just opened a great rail bridge conversion on the east side of Muncie.
@jimsba19513 жыл бұрын
@@DeniseLookingOut That was my thought about the structural integrity of the bridge was not cost effective to repair it. What are your tour plans for next year? Hopefully if my liver duct stent removal surgery next month goes okay I'm planning a trip to D.C. Haven't decided yet if I am going to go north to Indy and across or northeast to Cincy and across.

@@DeniseLookingOut LOL. Yes hills galore from here to Cincy but not too bad with the route I have planned. At Least Indy across is fairly flat. I so want to do that Ohio to Erie ride. Hi Denise. I only have time to watch a little bit of this video right now, but I have enjoyed what I've watched. I am a new sub. I found your channel because you were in the comments of one of Nick Nimmin's videos. May I respectfully suggest that you spend just a tiny bit more time on the editing of your sound? There were times where your music, although not obnoxious at all, was significantly louder than your voice. Obviously, we want to hear what you have to say as you go on your adventures. Please take this early vit. It is just a respectful suggestion from another KZbinr. Thanks for sharing your adventures!

Indiana is one of the worst bicycling states. The DOT thinks bicycles should only be on glorified sidewalks otherwise known as multi use paths.
