I have an older version of this bike and MAN does it kick butt. I don't hit trails but I do allot of street riding like 30 to 50 miles any day not raining and this bike has held up for years. Comfortable, sturdy, and man it moves I hit 30 on flat and over 30 down hill. Great bike.

Just got a Giant Roam 2 in Scotland. I like it, it flies well on the roads. My only tiny criticism would be the handle bars are quite wide, so for busy city roads you're slowing traffic down as you're a bit wide lol. I might just cut off a few cm's on either side if I can be arsed. The shop let me try out a medium and a large one. I'm 5'8 (176cm) - leg length 29" (73cm) and the large size fitted me better. I was a bit cramped on the medium.

@TroyandAndrea2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dohle! Yes, I would recommend it, I have several friends who have this bike who are heavier and they seem to be happy with it. You might need to change out the saddle for one that’s more comfortable for you. Also, you might consider looking at the new Giant Cypress. It’s comparable to the Roam and already has wider tires, a larger seat, and a lot more adjustability built in. Thanks for watching!

@@TroyandAndrea Thanks for the quick reply! The Cypress looks nice too but I'd still go for a 'proper' MTB. I had two Cannondale Trails so far (sadly both stolen!) and now I'm looking for something new, maybe not-so-Cannondale'esque. I'm always happy about recommendations.

@user-cx2bk6pm2f Жыл бұрын
All Shimano groupsets, even entry level, function 100% reliably and afre 100% durable. The thing you get with higher tier is less weight. Of course, though, this 7-speed setup is quite old. Even 9-speeds are old. Fine for casul riders but for any sort of serious riding, get an 11-speed.
@TroyandAndrea Жыл бұрын
Like you said, 100% reliable. I consider the Roam an “entry” level bike, for general riding. In that case, the older 7 or 9 speed works fine. But once you start tackling hills and serious terrain, 11-12 speed is a must. Thanks for watching!

@@ashishsinghrajput2151 No, sir. A small fits me very well. The standover height (the distance of the top tube below the crotch) is perfectly comfortable. A medium would be too high and I would not be able to stand over it as easy when I come off of the saddle. However, I recommend test riding what size fits you best at your local bike shop.
