Thank you Vitus for making a very good MTB for 90% of the riders out here, and asking fair prices for them as well..... The external cable routing is the cherry on top and I hope you sell every single one of them!

Cool bike even for me to share with customers that don't have 3500 + to spend on a really good ready to ride bikes. Thank you for sharing. For me it's not always about the money in my pocket, but it's better to see customers on the trails.

Any idea what size the axle spindles are (24mm or 30 mm diameter?)?
@vitalmtb
@vitalmtb Жыл бұрын
most modern mountain bike axles are typically 15mmx110mm up front (boost) and 12mmx148mm rear (boost). downhill bikes may have 20mm front axles and there are other rear axle standards (older standards w/ smaller diameters and widths or superboost which is 12x157 IIRC).
@SecondHalfofLife
@SecondHalfofLife Жыл бұрын
@@vitalmtbThanks for the info. But sorry I mis-typed I meant the crank spindle diameter not the axle spindles. I believe they are 24mm for the Vitus Mythique but couldn't confirm that number anywhere on the interwebs. Looking to run slightly shorter cranks so wanted the info before purchasing a new crank/spindle set.

Canadians still have to order from the UK...which makes this bike unobtainable. Unless you want to spend $1000+ in import taxes and duties. Also, the AMP tires used to be available on the VR...what gives? A bit grumpy, because I've wanted to buy the 2022 VRX for the last 6 months but it was never available (priced at $1950 CAD at the time, so it made sense to pay the import). Now this...

Sounds frustrating af! Something tells me they'll come to Canada soon though, y'all have a big enough market there. The US I think is the first step over the pond...

I would Take the cheapest model, get a 203disc at The Front,cheapest strong brakes Like deire 4 cylinder or mt5,whatever can be Had in Sale,sell the Suspension get a used Bomber cr/Van RC and pike select and let IT both custom tune. Best bang For the Buck. The other components get exchanged If they brake

Suntour Tri-Air shock and durolux 36 fork is way more plush. Maybe cheaper too. Suntour durolux 36 is the best fork I've ever ridden. No bullshit. I've ridden them all. The TRI Air shock is more plush then Rock shock ultimate.

I’m so freaking in love with the Vitus and was on my way to the bike shop to buy the Norco fluid fs a4 which is priced similar to the vitus now I’m second guessing myself on which one to get 😢
@jimig399
@jimig399 Жыл бұрын
I've never seen a Norco. But I own a Vitus Mythique 2020 and I have loved it for the past 2 years. I paid 1800$ for it and now have 6700$ in it. It's really upgradable. The one i bought came with X fusion suspension that was worthless. First upgrade I made and it was a huge difference. It pulls straight, true and it's fast. It's a little low to the ground but I put some 165 cranks on it and it made a huge difference. The frame cracked at the rear brake gusset recently and Vitus made me send the frame to them for inspection. I had to send it to Europe from San Diego and haven't heard back from them yet but I'm confident that they are going to warranty my frame. Or at least replace the section of the seat stay where the break occured. I'll give an update here as soon as I they make a judgement and I hear back from them. I'm so bummed not to have my bike right now. Can't wait to get back out and ride. Thinking about going ahead and buying the new VRS model in white for myself for Christmas. Looks awesome.

@@topchoice1621 the new vrs and vrx are nice. I like the opaque white. I think I'm going to go with the vrs right now. Trying to convince my wife I need it right now. 🤞😂 They sell out really fast. Takes forever to restock. Don't expect them to be there long. The vitus branded hubs are really good by the way so your not afraid of that going in. I was worried about it. They lasted almost 2 years of heavy abuse from me. The Nukeproof brand is also their own and it's much better quality than the Giant bikes stuff. The bars and saddle are good. Hope it helps.

Looks like a really great value bike in most of the world, but that unfortunately didn't translate into Australian dollars for some reason. It isn't bad value, per se, but it's noticably worse value than the new Marin Rift Zone 2/XR, Polygon Siskiu T8 or Canyon Spectral AL5, all of which seem to be much closer in price-to-spec overseas.

...or just swap the calipers to 4-piston. Shimano levers are common between 2 and 4 piston versions of each brake, and only the very low end uses their BH59 brake hose.

@@mediasucks not a fan of 4 piston. Would rather have 2 piston with bigger pistons. Formula Cura, and Cura X do this, and theyre strong enough for my 43 pound DH bike. I use them with 220mm HS2 rotors

"the seat tube angle is a pedal friendly 77.5 degrees" Nothing pedal friendly about 77.5 degrees on a 130mm or 140mm trail bike. Trials bikes have ~78 degree seat angles and they are notoriously uncomfortable for anything but explosive power racing. A mid travel trail bike probably spends more time on XC-type terrain than on steep ups; you're sacrificing pedaling comfort and wrist stress on the majority of use-case terrain for pedal-friendly steep up ability that's not really the primary focus of 130mm and 140mm mid travel trail bikes.
@soliranje
@soliranje Жыл бұрын
I totally agree. 75,3 degrees of SA on my scott genius 2020 is really good for climbing even steep sections 15-20% grade, and it is comfortable for long pedaling on terrain that is not steep at all.
I made the Mythique stock again for the BEST long term review.
