Outstanding honest review mate. I will be trading my 2019 GSA since that bike is just too tall and heavy for the dirt. I would rather enjoy the tarmac as I have done with road bikes my whole life. Thanks for the ride.

I love the review, and your style of presenting information! As an owner of a 2017 S1000XR factory lowered none of the information was new to me, but to see and hear your absolute enjoyment of this fine machine has earned you a subscriber! At the end you talk briefly about down shifting and clutch feedback. My only question would be, WHY? After 3 years on mine and almost 30,000 kms later I can literally count the times I have shifted up or down with the clutch on one hand. The shift assist pro is absolutely sublime! Keep up the good work!

Good review! I have a 2016 with the Akro exhaust. I'm so in love with it after 14k miles. I traded up from the Multistrada. Haven't stopped smiling since I got it.

Nice review, going to pick up a 19 plate come April ...I can't wait to go for some long rides in Europe. I've tried the TE and that was great but I really fancy the SE in the blue, white M sport colour. 😜👍👍👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Had my XR 4 years and still love it, done 40,000 miles and toured on it, was considering the e XR but think I will keep the one I have, had the second sevice and the valves still in spec.

Met a guy last year in Scotland who had the XR, his main gripe was the tank range, and it really annoyed him.

Spot on. I have the XR here in Australia and all I can say is Australia is a BIG country. 250k’s out of a tank is effing annoying... I’m moving to a GS shortly

Try a mt 10 when you get just over a 100miles !!

@@kevgriffiths9303 yea mine was same, I have a xr and get around 200 when you fill up to the brim it says 155 but don't move for ages so it is around 200 with normal riding

yep...I'm loving my, only 4 months old. But...I wish it was true about no vibration in handle bars. My was bad and had to install Evotech weights.

What did the xr get from the gs. The boxer engine ? The spoke'd wheels. Or really just some wide handle bars. I have rode both and still not sure which one i liked most.

Lovely looking bike but the front wheel just looks too small. I know it might ruin the sports handling etc if it was bigger but looks like it needs to be an inch or two bigger than the rear. Its proportions just don't look right to me. Great review though!

Maybe thats why BMW put a big non functional beak on their GS to “improve” look. Ill go with an Africa.

Chris Redfield Tall bikes with small front wheels seem to be a common formula for this breed of adv sports...and they all visually suck. The AT and its competitors score better with proportionally correct front wheel size.

This is not the time for this Pirates-of-the-Caribbean-esque cock-eyed ugly headlights motorcycle... It's time for the more symmetrical 2020 S1000XR; which I still may not consider due to BMWs batantly offensive cost cutting engineering methods...
