Hey! I think ur expression at the end of the video may be incorrect, i think the expression in the bracket should be R - r sin(alpha) for the distance between the pivot and line of action of the force.

If you set alpha =0 in your equation you’ll have a positive acceleration which is incorrect. Note that I have alpha defined differently in the last part.

Err. It’s been a while since I took physics. Can you provide a more intuitive explanation? I feel like it has something to do with a levering action between the crank and the friction (non-slip) between the table and the wheel.
