I am the new owner of a Soul 10 and yeah, great bike. What surprised me most is the great road manners in the daily commute; snooth ride, awesome brakes, good gear range. It's a keeper 100%

Im picking up a 2023 soul 20 by the end of the week if everything goes to plan. Rocky definitely undersells this bike. I even overhead the shop I test rode it at, say it was a really nice bike as I left the store.

I have the 2022, got it about a week ago and have hit some local intermediate trails and dirt jumps and the bike feels fantastic. It shifts smooth, rides great and feels nimble and responsive on tight single track trails. Descends great and climbs well too. I feel like Rocky Mountain is underselling its capabilities with their write up. As a budget mountain bike it peforms excellently and still has some places it could be upgraded in the future.

Do you need to buy anything like tubes or pedals? It says nothing on the site
@nello1591 Жыл бұрын
@Brayplaysfn comes with pedals, albeit plastic ones. Includes tires with inner tube, but they can be converted to tubeless.

agreed. Some companies are very cautious with their marketing... trying to under-promise and over-deliver.

I was considering this bike in the 2022 model as well - it was going to be that or the Kona Lana'i, do you have a recommendation?

Can't wait to receive my Soul 20! I feel that the small jump of price really worth the upgrade you get, more capable drivetrain, better fork, wider rims! But both are really good value and probably the best value out of all brand right now
@Omen63 жыл бұрын
Absolutely worth the price. I picked up the Soul 20 earlier this year and I love it. Last year I bought a Marlin 7 and sold it the same summer. the Soul 20 is just on a whole different level than most hardtails in the price range. For under $1k, you’re getting Deore components, slack geo, 120mm fork, tubeless ready, 1x, tapered head tube, clutch derailleur, thru axle in the front, etc. Enjoy !

I’m looking at 5 bikes and this one so far is top of my list. So hard choosing bikes between $600/$800 range. This looks like something I wouldn’t have to immediately upgrade anything. 2022 Kona lava dome,polygon xtrada 5 or 6,Vitus nucleus are the competition

I have the 2022 Fusion 10 in medium. Got the black and silver one. Amazing bike. Rides like a dream. I paid $727 for it and feel like it was a great deal. Only thing that bugs me is the there's only one set of cage bolts for a water bottle. Most other bikes have at least two. But no big deal. Overall, it's an awesome bike. I would definitely buy it again.
@BikeBrosBikeShop Жыл бұрын
Sounds like you got a great deal! Yes, the second set of bottle mount bolts is a thing some people miss and some people are glad to miss so they can install really long dropper posts if that comes up (or to even allow a long post to be slid deep into the seat tube if using the old fashioned qr seat collar as a dropper).

I would like a Soul 20 but I just logged on to Jenson USA and they had the Soul 10 in stock so I just pulled the trigger on it. I can wait to get it. From the video it looks like its a great bike.

Thanks for a very good review! I'm searching for something basic, not "clean XC" and not too trail/enduro...Fusion/Soul seems just perfect when searching for something 120-130mm with a more playful geometry, and unlike Fuse/Growler not the hefty tires, and unlike Rockhopper really a tapered head. The closest alternative in my mind, Canyon's Grand Canyon. But I love these - and they're not for sale here. :(

What do you mean when you say the rims are tubeless ready but not the tires? Do I need new tires to tubeless? Sorry pretty new to mountain biking. Thanks! Great review, just got mine last summer and love it!

Great video as always So to get a boost rear through axel what model do you need to go to, the growler?
@BikeBrosBikeShop3 жыл бұрын
Yes, correct. Either Growler (Rocky), San Quentin 2 (Marin) or Fathom (Giant) are the first price point models with Thru-axle from the brands we sell.

This bike might be nice for my CYC 3,000 watt ebike build. Are you familiar with CYC electric motor kits? Brakes seem good for an E bike build. Also space enough to hang a 72V 30 ah triangle battery

Should I go for Giant fanthom 2 or this one

I'm saving up my pennies for the Fathom 2. It already has everything except for pedals and lock on handle grips. This bike, the Vitus Nucleus VR, VRS and the Polygon Xtrada 6, 7 are all so tempting but by the time you change and ad components you end up at the price of a Fathom 2 or maybe a little more. I'm going for the Fathom 2. Maybe a little easier to find too.
@robibler3 жыл бұрын
I have the fathom 2. The fork already broke and am in the warranty process. Otherwise it’s a great bike and come with a dropper, 180mm front/rear and boost axels. It’s an awesome bike.

I just bought this bike the Rocky Mountain Soul 10 2021. What is exactly the capacity of this bike in mountains. Is it considered a mountain bike or a recreational trail bike. Which are the limits ? I am a beginner in mountain biking. Thanks in advance !
@vingt-10063 жыл бұрын
This bike is perfect for well maintained trails and could do some MTB trails also, like some green or blue line, but don't expect going as fast as 4000$+ bike or doing some downhill with it.

I did couple of black diamonds with it, Bike Handles well, But if you are serious about mountain biking, I would highly suggest upgrading to a air shock, The difference is massive, Other than that, this bike has near to perfect geometry, and very capable shifting

@fynnmulligan13 жыл бұрын
it limits the upgradability of the whole bottom bracket and chainring, and is not reliable as a two piece crank

Anybody have this in a medium size? Wondering what size to get for a kid who is (for now) 5' tall but I expect to grow a LOT in the next year. I'm thinking Medium size?
@BikeBrosBikeShop Жыл бұрын
I would think a medium is a stretch (literally a stretch between saddle and handlebars) however it may be worth having your child sit on one to see how the positioning looks. Stand-over height is pretty low on these and doesn't change much between sizes so you may be able to get away with that.
