I have a Marin Gestalt that I frequently ride and it's a great bike. I've recently become much more of a fan of steel frames and I've been watching for a good price on a Four Corners frame. I appreciate the information on the frame fit and you look fine in the camera. You shouldn't be self-consious about it. Thank you for the video.

Marin is such an overlooked brand but they really have a thoughtful design philosophy. Another great video🍻

I have the 2018 Marin Four Corners (V1). The "entry level" bike is a value buy that's absolutely fun to ride. This V2 bike, a bit upgraded, is something I would have considered - especially the frame. Glad they included thru axles. I converted mine to flat bars after several years of drops, and it's even more fun!

Thank you for great review Can’t wait to see how you fixed fit I’m 187cm tall and looking at buying the four corners here in Australia for bikepacking and some gravel events(for fun not for competition) Cheers

The Fairlight Faran 2.5 is a really excellent iteration of the commuter/adventurer chromoly bike.

I really enjoy youe reviews. I've worked at a Marin dealer for the past 10 years in the southern U.S. and i frequently have customers watch your channel for info before committing to buy. Especially if it's a model we do not have in stock. It definitely helps seeing detailed video of these even for myself if i want to order somerhing from them but want some more info on it. Cheers 🤘🤙

Thanks for the sizing tips. I'm in the market for one, and I would need an XS to get close to reach of my medium Poseidon. (And it would still be a little longer!) That's insane. Marin needs to figure that out. If you are under 5' 8" you probably don't fit this bike.

I am 5'3" or 160 cms and in between sizes XS and S. Which would be a more comfortable fit? Please advise.

Thanks for this video. Can you fit fenders if you have 700x50c tires on this bike?

Thanks for this in-depth review. What is the gear range of this set up? I've had everything from fixed gear to belt drive internal hubs, but for touring, my brain just wants triple chainring. Can a one-by give me the mountain goat climbing gear for a loaded tourer?

Between the DSX FS and Four Corners 1 - which will be the better choice for a weekend bikepacking trip?
@dariuslankarian32826 ай бұрын
Love my four corners 2019 bike. Probably the best bike for commuting or touring since you would never get toe overlap or heal strike.

Thank you for this video. I am very interested in this bike. There are several dealers in my area, but none stock this model. I appreciate the close-up shots and thorough descriptions you provide. Do you think the chainring can be swapped all the way down to a 34t to provide a sub-20 gear ratio for loaded touring?
@BikeBrosBikeShop4 ай бұрын
Hi, I don't think there will be anything preventing you from going with a smaller chainring so your plan should work out fine. Let us know if you buy the bike and what the outcome is.

Great video, thanks! I'm thinking of getting this bike primarily for commuting -- with a big road tour next summer (trans america trail) -- and some gravel and maybe light adventure on occasion. Is this a reasonable use case? Would you swap out the chainring for a 34t or 36t for a trans-continental tour where I'm not interested in setting any land speed records, but rather being comfortable and enjoying my time?
@BikeBrosBikeShop6 ай бұрын
Yours sounds like a perfect use case! I'd test out the gearing. With that massive cassette you're already looking at quite a low gear, but I definitely understand what you're thinking if you're going to be carrying a heavy load.

Marin's website will give you the option to ship it to your local Marin dealer. If its out of stock on the consumer site it is also out of stock for dealers fyi

I'm 6'3", so would you recommend a large size as opposed to XL?
@BikeBrosBikeShop4 ай бұрын
Most likely you'd select the XL but I wouldn't write-off the idea of a Large. Factors will be: seatpost insertion (likely being forced to upgrade to a longer seatpost on a large), preferences with horizontal reach, willingness to play with stem length/angle. If you get a chance to try both that would be ideal. I'd be interested to hear your feedback if you buy one. Keep us posted.

they exaggerated with the price this steel is not even Reynolds 953
@BikeBrosBikeShop7 ай бұрын
Hmm, can you provide an example? I compared to Surly as a common option and this Marin stretches the dollar quite a bit further with equivalent tubing. I imagine the steel on this Marin to be similar to Reynolds 631. 9xx Reynolds is fancy Stainless steel, much more expensive.

@@BikeBrosBikeShop but is not Reynolds and whole bike is overpriced

Cool, reminiscent of the 90s, but heavy and overpriced for what it is.
