Really pleased you took a chance on Sweden, where gravel and bikepacking is concerned Sweden is made for it. I’ve been living in Sweden for 22 years, from England originally. The gravel roads and single track are hard beaten in Europe at least. It is possible to do Sweden as cheap or as expensive as you want so I hope others feel inspired to follow in your footsteps. If you try northern Sweden it is a bit less populated and therefore refuelling stops need planning as it is possible to cycle hundreds of km until the next stop.

Totally agree and I’ve never felt so welcome as a biker/cyclist as I did in Sweden. The infrastructure is made for it. Really enjoyed the adventure and experiencing the country. I believe there are some nice mountain ranges in the north too. Does sound challenging though!

What an excellent adventure, must admit would never have thought of Sweden as a bikepacking location but you proved me wrong, would be interesting to see how you plan a bikepacking trip as this is something I have become more interested in and would like more info on it, do you think you ability to ride clipless has improved? Great Video Laura andthanks for sharing! 😁
@LauraJaneWeeTamMTB4 ай бұрын
Good shout, I’ll maybe cover that when I do a vid on my setup etc. There’s a good site called bikepacking.com with loads of verified routes which is a great place to start. Yup the week definitely helped me get comfortable with clipless. Managed some regular enduro rides after on them and felt pretty good but took them off for a race as that felt a bit too much too soon!

Nice. How wasSweden for costs? Been to Norway and it was very, very expensive. Remeber having shrimp night after night as it was the only reasonably affordable thing in shops!
@LauraJaneWeeTamMTB4 ай бұрын
I had a similar experience in Norway years ago! I went in expecting Sweden to be similar but I found it cheaper than Norway and actually not too different to the higher prices we pay in the UK now! That said we weren’t in very touristy spots. I imagine Copenhagen is pretty pricey! Drinks were expensive though
@erik....4 ай бұрын
@@LauraJaneWeeTamMTB if you buy beer at Systembolaget it's not very expensive.. you can get a 5.7% lager for 1 euro. That's my preferred way of getting alcohol in the summer on trips instead of 8x more in a bar...
