Man! I was brought up in this " weirdness" called isolation. Look what is does to you...makes you very inventive! Enjoy! Great to hear the Magpies in the background. A land of great extremes. You get used to it. Lesson nr 1, never underestimate Nature. And you're right, " it's bloody beautiful, mate." Have a good laugh.

@ maddog etc. You ever been to Australia?...for more than one season,.... like nine months of Summer and three of Spring?...... Australians only really know one colour and that's red- brown -khaki -Beige. Anything else, like snow that's bleached WHITE...AND that's COLD, must be like lillies from heaven , only you ain't dead! You're alive man and it's like ice-cream from heaven, minus the cream! What could be more fascinating? " Pennies from heaven!" Here's to it, Mate. Have a great little Ozzie day.

As always another awesome video, keeping it real. I am planning a similar trip, and thanks to your videos will also be doing it in aid of world bicycle relief. If you have the time I'd be grateful for your responses to two questions. 1. What time of the year did you go? 2. Why did you go East to West? Sorry if you have already answered this before. Much respect & thank you for your videos.

That's awesome, I do wish you good luck. 1. I went in the Australian winter season. 2. It was cheaper to fly to Sydney from Auckland, and I wanted to live in Perth instead of Sydney. (I would recommend looking up prevailing winds (I had strong headwinds %90 of the time)

G'day, OGR! I couldn't work out whether you were just delighted to see the snow or whether you thought that it didn't snow in Australia. On another subject, your voice sounds VERY similar to a bloke I worked with in a bike shop in 'The Shire' in Sydney in the mid-80s. He was a Kiwi and I'm pretty sure his first name was Tony; he would have been around 19-20 then. It couldn't have been your father, could it? If he did work in a bike shop then but can't remember me (real name Brian), ask if he remembers a bloke who smashed his (i.e. my) pocket watch with a hammer one day.

I've been across the Nullarbor numerous times , car, bus , train and plane. Often wondered how it would be by camel or a bike. Walking never appealed. I hope the " cyclist-consciousness" of the Australian motorists has improved since I was trying to negotiate between the busses and cars in Sydney in the 1980's. Living dangerously. Maybe things have improved since . Now I think about a Montecarlo to Lyon. Couldn't be any worse. Australia's a big country, isn't it? Thankyou for sharing.

Most Australian motorists hate cyclists. They're not patient at all. The motorists here always seem to be in a hurry and seek to save a few seconds of their time. I always look to give way to them mainly by going onto the pavement. At least the infrastructure is slowly improving with more bike paths and complete cycle routes.

Thanks, I did see that, but you mentioned "rain proof pants" is that the brand? All my rain pants fail where you least want them to between the legs, I guess they can't keep up with the friction constant on the saddle. Are yours actually waterproof; is the Btwin jacket also, and are you still carrying that large audio speaker around with you? Many thanks, Paul

Hi there I want to asking few question if you dont mind. While you cycling from Sydney to perth,How much you spend your expenses for whole journey in Australia? What is the most difficult situation that you ever encounter? and How you to manage to find a place if you have problem with your Stomach ?
@TheOneGoodRoad
@TheOneGoodRoad 2 жыл бұрын
Honestly I offer coaching for more deeper in depth questions. I'll keep this brief I think each week I spent around 50 to 80 Aussie dollars. Easily the most difficult things are the distances and thinking about how much water you need also paying attention for road trains. I'm not sure what you mean by the last question I assume that you mean bathroom visits? that's easy you go to the forest and you dig a hole. Any further assistance I offer private coaching.

@@the.communist that mirror. You don't bike, do you? Otherwise you'd appreciate the value of a mirror. Perhaps it's " that" mirror and not that " mirror" that is the problem. I think they are indispensable in traffic and make for much safer riding for the bicyclist. Just go into search in the net . There are lots of choices. But it does bug me as well. I try not to look at it. After all, the video is more than the rear vision helmet mirror.

@@TheOneGoodRoad I imagine he means supplying all those underprivileged, bicycle-less ... where do you live? say, Brits, for example, with bikes THEN work your way around to Africa. I have seen what a bicycle can do for villages in not only Africa and in the right hands and with supportive control, it is, contrary to my initial response, a great help and initiative which could be just what Africans need, apart from clean water supply and safe human waste disposal systems. It is surprising how from such a mustard seed a large plant can grow. So, let us not stay too cool about assistance to developing countries and those people who struggle everyday to exist in the face of great adversity, something the Trump's of today have no idea about, not to this extent.
