@SaltyBeard_Adventures3 жыл бұрын
A bit of both. I was meeting my wife and friends, so there as that prize at the end. I had a much more elaborate route planned that went by the wayside due to time and fitness. While I may have been a little disappointed that I couldn’t show people all these other cool planned I know, I was still happy with my “girt” all things considers. And this was the first big trip I filmed, so I learned (later while editing) a great deal of what I would do differently for the next one. All part of learning a new craft. And I have lots of un-filmed areas to still show people.

getting some inspiration for the upcoming spring and summer ... I wonder, once in Penticton(or any other remote town), how do you get back to Vancouver ? There is no public transportation AFAIK ... thanks and keep up the great work !
@SaltyBeard_Adventures2 жыл бұрын
Good question? "Thanks for nothing Greyhound" --- Fast road ride back? Bribe a friend with food & gas to come get you? But more than not... Plan a loop. I know none of those are ideal answers, but that's the problem with BC's great geography, and lack of bus service. other option.... (pre-covied) -- I would hop the Amtrak go south, and ride some fun route between a few stations... then rail back home. Just do a little research to make you use use a terminal that has "baggage services" as those are the only stops that an Amtrak employee will load your bike onto the bike-storage car. You're not allowed to do it yourself. I love Amtrak. super cheap... rail to Oregon or northern California and ride.
@TheBakerTrader2 жыл бұрын
rail n ride sounds awesome! I had looked into ViaRail which can take you to Jasper, long way back home then ... But ye, amtrack 100% , thinking on doing Vic->OlympicNP->then catch a train around Portland or something ;)

@SaltyBeard_Adventures3 жыл бұрын
Wahoo is pretty darn good.. I used to get 20hrs continuous nav when I got it. 3 years later of heavy use, i get about 16hrs of nav runtime. Charging? I have a ANKER 22,000mha battery that can charge my iPhone 11 and Wahoo up from almost dead 3 times. And usually enough left in my bank to charge a GoPro battery 1-2x
