Winter in France can be bleak so we needed an escape. With this in mind, we decided to pack light and travel far. A bikepacking adventure was in order to somewhere where the sun would be shining. We looked at a map of France and decided our destination would be Marseille. We plan to take four days to reach our final destination. Part two of this trip sees us leave the beautiful city of Narbonne and head for the seaside resort town of La Grande-Motte. Our route would track the seafront almost all the way so we had high hopes for some beautiful views along the coast.
We hope to inspire others to look at doing similar cycling trips in France. Our website www.seektravelride.com has lots of practical information within it which will help you to plan for your own cycling holiday in France. If you have any questions for us let us know in the comments below.

That sunset was really magic at the end. I will admit when we first looked at the route on the map we thought there would be more sea views during the ride. But we certainly won't complain. To see the sea like that and in winter is magic!

You just cant trust maps. I would have thought it would be ocean views all the way. Luckily in Perth there's a small bit of elevation along the coast. Enjoying your posts

We were so close to the sea the whole way - just couldn't see it! But was magic to get to our destination and enjoy that sunset. It's rare to go on such a long ride with so little elevation gain. It just means less ability to free wheel and you are always turning those pedals. But it was a magic weather day and we will not be complaining about that! In Perth you also have that Freemantle Doctor winds to deal with as well!
