Macclesfield canal aka Macca is a good one to cycle. It has some isolated locks that are dead handy for wild camping, nice flat ground and the sound of running water. Using Nicholson canal guides are useful as well. They tell you where all the pubs are, which is handy if you're a drinker with a bit of a cycling problem like me. Good vid guys, it bought back memories of many years of canal cycling.

Another great video Dave and Ian, some slippy sections and the downed tree, but nice camping spits, great canalside pubs and food opportunities. Looked hard work in places and such a shame about the weather for the last day, and a lot of train travel back home so wonderful efforts by you in making this video! Thank you for your hard work and for sharing Dave 👏👌🏻💯👋

Nice one Dave and Ian, who knew you'd need a machete to clear the path! That was one of the best and well stocked honesty boxes I've seen in a while. This kind of adventure is good to have a mate with you i think. Looking forward to the next part 👍🍺🍺😎

Nice video and well done on getting through all that vegetation on the tow path not good! you both found a couple of great looking pubs too. Couldn't believe how muddy it was in sections. Very enjoyable to watch, thanks very much :)

It was a shame about the last day, but thats the way the cookie crumbles in this country and a wise decision to bail. I don't know about travelling light, I think you need to pack a wee chainsaw on some of those towpaths, what a nightmare. well I'm now off to watch what I thinks is the first episode on your other channel, what a sad muppet I am Haha. thanks as usual for taking us along and to your mate Ian for his sunny disposition. What tyres do you use dave ?
@davesolobiker56014 ай бұрын
Panaracer Gravel kings 38mm. I use tubes with sealant in as canal riding = lots of thorns 😂
@tangomike014 ай бұрын
@@davesolobiker5601 looking at Ian's bike they looked like normal road tyre. Stay safe take care looking forward to the next vid.

Ian has schwallbe all roads also with tubes and sealant 🚲👍
@mortyoutdoors71094 ай бұрын
Hi it’s Ian, I’ve got a 29er schwalbe marathon Almotion on the front, 26" marathon original greenguard on the back, previously had a tubeless setup, but moved to tubes with tubeless sealant for ease and 99% of our punctures are thorns which seal very well in tubes with sealant, tyres is my favourite subject as it makes or breaks a bike, this has worked very well for me for several years, tested to destruction all sorts of tyres over the years, lots of canal riding🚲👍🏻
