Cool video, sir. The Juniper mishap could've been very expensive...camera gear isn't cheap. Loved the old cars - my suggestion would've been to have that converted to old-skool BW. Looks like you guys had a good trip. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Ken. Not everyone can appreciate the work that goes into making the videos, so I appreciate you calling that out. I ride a Surly Karate Monkey with Front Suspension. Rob rides a Surly Karate Monkey. Not sure I really want to get into the gear review scene unless heaps of people ask for it. But let me know if there is something specifically you want to know about.

What poles did you use for the X-Mid and where did you store them on the bike while riding?
@pnwbikepacking2 жыл бұрын
hey Jaysus, nice job recognizing the xmid! The poles are made by CNOC. (47" version). These collapse down small enough that I stash them into the framebag.
@Jaysus1452 жыл бұрын
@@pnwbikepacking nice! Do the 47"s work well? I have a pair of 49"s from another shelter that I am going to try to use.... I figure I will get some in creased ventilation or just have to angle them a bit - lol!

Have you ever thought about a route from hwy 395 to the town of plush from there up and over hart mt to French Glen then from there do steens mt loop then down to town of fields then north to Alvord desert up to 78 could start and stop in burns theres a campsite with hotsprings at top of hart mt also camping and hotspring north of fields Alvord hotsprings also another hotspring with camping east of Alvord called willow hotsprings lots if dirt gravel roads to tie everything together could be one long route our a few shorter ones make sure and hit cowboy dinner tree if you go through silver lake Tim
@pnwbikepacking2 жыл бұрын
Tim, thanks for the route idea! I am going to check this out on Gaia and see if I could make this happen! I've passed by Cowboy dinner tree before and silver lake on the Oregon Outback. I've always wanted to head over to the Alvord desert just haven't been able to make it happen yet.

Really enjoy your videos. Where do you get your music tracks from? Seems like all the royalty free websites I’ve found charge about $90 per track. Way too much for low-budget filmmakers!
@pnwbikepacking2 жыл бұрын
Hey! I use Epidemic Sounds. It's $9 a month if you pay annually or $15 a month if you pay per month. It gives you access to a lot of content and you can cancel any time (and any existing videos you published are fine). There are some alternatives too like artlist. Check them out, I think they both offer a 1 month free thing too so you can see if you like it.

@@pnwbikepacking Thanks for the info. I just signed up for the free 30 days with them. Dumb question: they don't charge you for the songs you download during those 30 days, do they? Just wanted to make sure I'm not running up a tab.

do you also bring your drone only to use it twice? 😂
@pnwbikepacking2 жыл бұрын
Hah, yeah... sometimes it works out that way. I've been on trips where I schlep the drone and NEVER USE IT! There are a few other factors too though. Sometimes I am just too lazy to take the time to get it out and set it up, other times it is too windy, and I also try to be judicious about when I use it as to not annoy folks who are trying to enjoy the wilderness. Most of the time I hate using drones, but they produce such an amazing perspective!
