Bikepacking The Munda Biddi Trail

Bikepacking the Munda Biddi Trail solo 1000km in South Western Australia from Mundaring to Albany in 20 days. This is my highlights of the trip on a Salsa Fargo staying in huts and Nemo Hornet 2 person tent in caravan parks and Recreation parks.

Great shots, very inspiring. Good to see someone from my age group (more or less) do this trail. I will do it in October, though I only have 12 days. What time of year did you go? I don't see the dates indicated anywhere.

I left about 3 march last year with a bit of warm weather at the start but overall good weather but I would go in September next time for the wildflowers. You might be lucky in October

Great video Sir - can I ask what month you went ? October during Spring flowers and looks like you had very few people on trail you saw / and you rode Perth to Albany - did you organise transport back to Perth by charter bus ? I am planning to do the trail in the next 2 years over maybe 14 days if possible and try to stay in accomodation in major towns but tents at some of the stops you stayed at too - do you have to pre- book those camping sites? I rode in March about the 4th. Late August to October for flowers. No you don’t book campsites other than private campgrounds. I booked the bus from one of the major towns once I knew I was on track to finish and fly out which is why some small sections to not be early

Cool ride bro, how do you and what are carrying for food for that many days?

Breakfast in one front bag, lunch in another front bag, dinners in bag under down tube. Generally 5 days. I knew Coles at Collie, Manjimup and IGA's at some of the other main towns. Topped up at Dwellingup, Northcliffe, Walpole, and Pemberton. Then would have a morning tea at the small towns to keep them going economically like Jarrahdale, Donnelly River, Nannup, Lake Brockman, & Boyannup

Nice video, once I muted it and slowed it down to .75. We came here because we love biking. You dont have to edit it so much. Its not a 30 second commercial. Would have loved to have heard some sounds of tires crunching dirt or sounds of the bush. Still, thanks for sharing it. I watched to the end.

I am doing a daily release which has me speaking and less edit so you might like them. I probably have the music up too loud to get the effect of the birds. The drone has no sound and I had a problem with the Go Pro at one stage with crackling sound that I haven't solved. Appreciate the feedback.

Do you know what your average pace and number of kms you did roughly? Trying to plan my trip and unsure of what’s possible to achieve in a day, I know everyone is different but would like to know how you did

I tried around 50 km a day if going to a town campground or from 1 hut to the next. Thought Donnybrookcampground I could have gone to the next town instead of the next hut as I left early and arrived at 11.00am and the next section was very flat along the old train line to Quinnup

So apparently just riding the trail isn't enough. You need to take a drone, spend lots of time getting all sorts of aerial shots, then spend more time video editing than actually telling the story. Style over substance. Oh, and better to watch with the sound off.
