Jaysus lads 41.5 km in a day! Very nicely made video, liked a lot.

Cheers Michael I don't know if 41.5km is actually alot but maybe it is when your wheeling it through fields and over stiles 🤔. Thanks for the comment appreciate it 👍

@@theoutdoorsycrew1749 I am from NZ where we have a lot of easy bike packing rides. I have to admire you guys toughing it out on your rides. Hats off.

NZ your so lucky it looks like an amazing place to live and probably well developed trails not farmers fields 😆. The reason they look hard is there walking trails really but it's what we got cheers for the message appreciate it

I was wondering about punctures. I've tried a few sections of the blackwater way and duhallow way running and mtbing...a lot of punctures due to brambles, furze and Hawthorn thorns...can be a right pain..thx for the vid.
@theoutdoorsycrew17492 жыл бұрын
You were probably doing alot of off road to get the punctures and believe me I feel your pain it's so annoying. My latest video "Suck Valley Bikepacking route Ireland" is alot of road and has a downloadable map which I did earlier this year it might be a bit better of a cycle and could probably be done in a day albeit a tough day. Also check your tyre pressure when I was getting alot of punctures I had the pressure around 30 psi but when I put it up to around 40 psi I seemed to get an awful lot less punctures, just something to try good luck with it 👍

how does someone find out where all these cycle ways are
@theoutdoorsycrew17492 жыл бұрын
Hey Damian, Thanks for getting in touch, these are not cycle paths that we are doing they're walking ways/paths. That's why at times they seem much harder than they should be for people on bikes but if you are looking for them this is the link : www.sportireland.ie/outdoors/walking/trails But I am trying to make a downloadable gpx file for a really promising route this summer which can be done in one go or in parts. I have to cycle it first myself before I put it up here with a video. I should have it done and a video up some time this summer so keep an eye out. Hope this helps

Nice one lads! You were lucky with the weather ok, it looks like a nice route apart from the electric fences and stiles...but that's most of the way marked trails in Ireland for you. Anything else planned for over the summer?
@theoutdoorsycrew17493 жыл бұрын
I have just completed majority of the wicklow way, video should be up in the next few weeks. Hopefully 1 or 2 more outings over the summer at least but nothing off the top of my head we normally see how what days we can get off together and go from there but I'm sure there will be other trips before the year is out. Any plans yourself ?
@RunnerANDrider3 жыл бұрын
@@theoutdoorsycrew1749 I'm looking forward to seeing your video of the Wicklow way. It's on my radar to do it seeing as it's only up the road from me. I might do it solo before the summer is out. Myself and my brother are heading up to Donegal soon for more of a tour on the roads. We have a 260k planned over 2.5 days....we'll see how it goes. Not sure if I'll make a video of the trip yet as there won't be as many opportunities to film as normal. I'm looking at doing the South Leinster way solo I the next few weeks as well....so many plans!!

@@RunnerANDrider wow that's big miles for donegal I hope you achieve it sounds like a monster cycle best of luck with it 👍 the south leister way can be combined with the wicklow way if you have the time or want a bit more adventure. The wicklow way was tougher than I was expecting and due to time constraints (spoiler alert) the last day we had to take the roads to get back to the car in time so best of luck if you do go for it and give yourself enough time especially the northern side 🤮🥵
@philiplenaghan56902 жыл бұрын
That's because it is a walking route and they always have stiles as do waliking rooutes in the rest of the world.
