Good stuff Brother! As riders, we can't always assume we're in the right and the vehicle driver is at fault. That attitude and how that guy handled the situation is part of what gives bikers a bad reputation. Keep preaching!!! #GOARMYBEATNAVY

Slow traffic only, high beams on, sometimes radio loud. I find that most people will make room for you in the Bay Area. Always have my eyes watching for the distracted drivers

I appreciated yall so much! This video was very educational as well. I just got a bike and watched your wife easily and smoothly get the bike off the stand really helped me. I'm 5-3 on a softtail deluxe, and it seemed so heavy, but after watching your video, I saw that I was doing it wrong. I hope to meet yall one day, I'm in the same area.

Hi Kolagirl. Thanks for watching and glad that video helped. Hopefully, we will meet. We are currently in New Orleans because of a death in the family. After the funeral, we hit the road for another extended bikecation. As of now, we have no idea when we will be back. So please stay tuned and please contact us upon our return.

I have ridden in CA many many miles, and I've never even tried lane splitting. My hair raised on the back of my neck, seeing this. 😮

Yeah Eric it can get hair-raising at times. Stay safe brother.

I've been rideing my whole life in southern California, I lane split a lot. big bikes make it so mutch harder, props on figuring it out on a wing I've had a concorse 14 and its verry different then doing it on a normal bike. at least where i ride harleys are rarely splitting, not only are they hevy but they also have that compromised riding position and ape hangers make it impossible to be precise, most of the time when they are out on weekends i see them cheating down the shoulders.
@BootsandJeansRiders6 ай бұрын
We are used to splitting on our wings...If we see a smaller bike behind us, we would let it pass. They can move more easily through traffic than us. We never ride the shoulder, too much debris.

I live in CA Bay Area, and yes, I lane-filter, but ONLY at reasonable speeds, and I always try to have an escape plan. When a car moves over to make room, throw a peace sign or nod a thank you. 👍👍
@BootsandJeansRiders6 ай бұрын
Yeah Jon, It seems easier up here than in the LA area. Drivers seem to move over more, creating a lane just for us. (When a car moves over to make room, throw a peace sign or nod a thank you). Always

Lane splitting scares me. Never tried it. When I lived in CA, bikes would scare me because you don't see them coming and you might not hear them.
@BootsandJeansRiders6 ай бұрын
I've been doing it for a long time now and it doesn't bother me. But I refuse to split in other states because drivers aren't used to seeing bikes coming down the middle.
@johnanderson97356 ай бұрын
I split, but my personal speed limit is about 30 mph, in the carpool lane or the #1 lane. If traffic is moving faster than that I’m usually staying with traffic.

Illegal up here, but like Doyle said, if i'm stuck in traffic i'll do what I have too...
@BootsandJeansRiders6 ай бұрын
Hey Wayne, especially if it's very hot...Then I would go for it too even if it is illegal.
@JustGKue6 ай бұрын
I try to only do it when the traffic is pretty much at stand still
@BootsandJeansRiders6 ай бұрын
Yeah Kue...That's what we do. We get back in the lane once the speeds get back around 30-40mph.

lane splitting is too dangerous for me. these bikers act like the cars are responsible for the bikers safety. They are not.

I don't believe I'll lane split in Alabama if it was legal. That's a tricky game to play. 4 wheel cage motorists DO NOT pay attention. And like you said, there's nothing that urgent where I have to lane split on a daily. Bad accident, construction delay, stand still traffic. Yes, I'll filter through. Stay safe!👍🏿

@@BootsandJeansRiders I would be willing to filter. I have done a little in established states, but I don’t trust people at all

which camera is this. You need to upgrade, this video looks like it was recorded in the 90's
@BootsandJeansRiders6 ай бұрын
Could you check your YT settings and change it to 4k? I've watched it on several devices and it looks fine. The splitting was an older camera and the accident was with my smartphone. All set to 4k.

I have yet to split lanes. Maybe if traffic was stopped or really slow would I risk it. If traffic is moving why risk it?
@BootsandJeansRiders6 ай бұрын
Exactly, we take enough risks, so to split at high speeds...Not worth it.

Don’t know if I have the skills for that dude. It’s not legal in Florida or NY. The folks in NYC make it look easy and of course crazy.
@BootsandJeansRiders6 ай бұрын
You certainly do have the skills. For the most part, the drivers move way over. Our daughter splits.

I love lane splitting unfortunately I can't do it where I'm living now as it's illegal. I think it should be legal all over the world. More people would get bikes just to not be in traffic😁

Excellent point (More people would get bikes just to not be in traffic).

Aww man you know I'm splitting lanes every day all day... but with reason. I split when traffic is at a standstill. If haters don't move over I wait, a clearing always develops. Just read the rules for your state and split/lane share responsible. As for you being a witness... not in this case 😂😂😂
@BootsandJeansRiders6 ай бұрын
What up Tony! You know we are good with it here in Cali, I am fearful of splitting in other states. Yeah, I had to let him know, he didn't want me as a witness. He would lose that case.

I don't want it in Ontario, Canada. Please keep it there. It will all come down to assessing fault. I can see moving around a stopped vehicle going straight through so I may turn right. All lane splitting does is make enemies. No thanks.
@BootsandJeansRiders6 ай бұрын
It's an everyday thing here in Cali, but it has its dangers and faults. I would never do it anywhere else. Drivers get jealous that we can get through traffic while they are stuck. (All lane splitting does is make enemies) That point is well taken. Thanks for watching and commenting.
