Not to take away from this guys great service at all but you also have to think other dealers aren’t showing this on KZbin and make lots of money off the vids. So he gets to give excellent customer service while not loosing any money but actually making more and more money. That $1400 has made him sever thousands already. So wouldn’t you pay $1400 to make thousands more?

I wonder if maybe that bike was used in a classroom setting, like maybe to train technicians... so it was perhaps taken apart and put back together a billion times but never really ridden... That might explain why bolt heads are chewed up, why the cover had no gasket, why things were put together incorrectly, etc. Good content though, I'm really enjoying your channel.

They wouldn't use a brand new bike for that purpose. Someone just had more money than brains trying to mod it. That was almost a 10 grand bike when new, and 3-4 more grand in aftermarket mods. I highly doubt any school is going to spend that money on a project.

Bought an 06 Raven R1, it ran , drove it home 100 miles. Ended up taking it to the dealer for a starter relay, ( it would stall at idle quite often, putting extra strain on the battery, relay ,and starter)went to pick it up, had an unusual whining noise, left it there, said do what you need. Had metal chips in the oil, had it rebuilt as needed . Shortly after getting it back , starter went out. Replaced that myself, what a pain. Then , a couple weeks later, jumped on it hard at highway speeds, clutch went bye bye, had to nurse it home, about 12 miles, about 3000 rpm, 45 mph, blinker on, riding down the shoulder. Ordered a new high performance clutch, put that in. Was a lot easier than the starter. You never know with used bikes ,or cars, I was a Mercedes tech for seven years, sometimes you need time , and digging deeper when buying used, but that is usually impossible, gotta be ready to spend some after the purchase. Pretty sure the guy knew something was wrong, hence, the reason he sold it, but , oh well.

Good man right there. Sean is always there to stand beside the bikes he sells! Sure he may have to pay a little on certain things that happen that are out of his control on the bikes.. But in the long run people SEE the way he treats his customers and this pays off in the long run because people trust him. Who else clears their plans for the whole night just because a person is riding their bike they just bought on a LONG ride home? HE DOES, he clears his night out just in case the rider needs assistance and he can come out to help them..

Rugaltor rectifiers can easily break from overheating. The Honda VFR800 was the worst reg ever, i had replaced it 3 time before sourcing a MOSFET (the type of component) reg. All REG RECs need heat sink paste and excellent cooling, they will blow just like a CPU from a computer. I can build better REG RECs but there are plenty of doner bikes out the. Furthermore, if you disconnect lights or use LEDs the REG REC works harder with less load ( shunt type control). So do not remove the lights if your bike has a shunt type regulator, you will not save fuel, gain power or anything else but blowing up you regulator. MOSFET type regulators are the way to go, the alternator can (in the VFR at least) peak over 100amps. Starter motors can generally be save unless the windings have burnt. Simple checks will give you a diagnosis and the motor is one of the simple designs to repair. Remember, MOSFET regulators produce very little heat and do not short the alternator unlike most of the older regs. Honda Regulators have been very dubious and need a-lot of heat dissipation. BMW are the only motorcycle that I have seen with a traditional automotive alternator with an inbuilt regulator. The down side of a traditional alternator can be loading fluctuations.

i was gonna send a comment telling you to slow down on your diagnosis and actions to get a bike running. i was an auto mechanic for fifteen years and ive made every mistake in the book and most every time the problem is in the basics. check spark, fuel pressure, compression. not once has it ever been bad gas and plugs. im sure that it can and does happen, but its usually not the problem. Then i saw the way you treat your customers and saw that you are a class act and deserve top ratings in customer service. ive worked in shops and all of them, all, would find a way to charge the customer . some how they would dodge responsibility and figure out a way not to lose money. so you are a good guy and i hate to see you lose money. get the tools to check the basics before you spend any money and your life will be much more stress free.
