Good job for a nice bike! At that time they often used a clamp system for the front derailleur. If tight too much, it could damage the carbon vertical tube and deform it with time.. Otherwise, it was common to lose the rubber bands on these brake adjusters after they got old, I usually grease them.

@@ivorpeachey4366 oh it’s definitely Shimano. Quick google search and you will find it. The big difference between the rim version and disc version is that the shifters are still wired and not wireless. Also no junction box like on previous 11 speed Di2. Shifters connect with each other then one wire down to the battery. And then everything else is the same.

@@ivorpeachey4366 It's totally possible, but only the derailleurs would be from the 105 R7100 lineup. The STI levers need to be the Ultegra ST-R8150 at the very least. For the brakes, even previous-generation rim brakes work just fine.

I had a very similar Bianachi (2008 model). The Campag groupset drove me mad in the end. Local bikes shops struggled to service it. One even switched a 10 speed chain and cassette for a nine speed. 😢 The bike also dropped the chain when you moved it backwards. It was really odd.

A very informative video. I would like to know if the pulley wheels in the rear derailleur are the same size, top and bottom. I heard from another channel, once a chain is stretched, and is replaced does the rear cassette or freewheel is replaced. What are your thoughts ?
@yonglingng5640
@yonglingng5640 2 ай бұрын
Most rear derailleurs have non-staggered pulley wheels in terms of tooth count, but will vary in teeth profile. They will be marked as a tension (lower) and guide (upper) pulley respectively. A cassette takes a few chain replacements before it needs to be replaced. The general rule of thumb is when the teeth start to look like shark fins.

in all honestly easy service, i would change the jockey wheels whilst they are off, maybe retention vbrakes if needed, funnily enough those paint spills actually didnt look to out of place, apart from on the brakes, i might have added some random streaks across the frame in places, for that custom paint look, but yes, a very nice bike that has been protected by to much oil, which makes a change, my first rd was a bianchi, yep the italians certainly know how to build a good race bike

Got to disagree about Campag... I bought a DeRosa Idol based on all the hype the Campy fan boys were spouting. It came with the Potenza groupset.... worst - groupset - ever.... both Shifters snapped within 6 months, Chain Reaction Cycles made a mess of the repair so I got a full refund when I actually wanted to keep the bike... could have all been avoided had I stuck with Shimano 😢 Great video as usual... missing the background music?
