Okay... ...I nearly fell out of my chair when he did the blue wavy thing. Still laughing typing this. Hilarious. Will make the 2023 on my way back from CA (riding GA to CA turnaround to NYC then Europe) barring any nastiness which may visit me (as Ryan would say "No windies, no flatties, no crashies!). Stay safe!

Being from Philly and then moving out to Seattle and now smack dab in the middle of the USA in Iowa, I'm amazed by how Iowa has to offer. The only thing I miss is my Wawa and Sheetz. I'm craving my hoagie made fresh to order at like 1 am in the mornings

An interesting fact for the day is that the reason Northeast Iowa has such a different landscape than the rest of Iowa is because it is part of the Driftless Area, an area that was not covered by ice during the last ice age.
@SpenceandEm2 жыл бұрын
Wow that's interesting! Thanks for sharing :)
@namcao43792 жыл бұрын
Read a little about this while we were finishing up our RAGBRAI. Our bus rendezvous point in Lansing was at the Driftless Area Education Center. Spencer actually filmed his ride recap from their back porch!
@robertoemilio2 жыл бұрын
One question, I didn't see the tents on the bikes. how did you get the tents?
@SpenceandEm2 жыл бұрын
There were baggage trucks that you can drop off your belongings, then you pick them up when you come into each town!
@robertoemilio2 жыл бұрын
@@SpenceandEm Thanks
@jeffg.61102 жыл бұрын
You can bring your own tents, do your own set-up & take-down, & put your tents/bags on the truck each morning; that truck/shuttle is included in your basic RAGBRAI entry fee. Then some people ride with a “team” with its own accompanying bus or RV (to get a shower, supplies, etc). Or if you want the camping experience but with a few more amenities, you can pay for a spot with one of the charter companies (like Pork Belly) that basically creates its own mobile campground: they set up and take down all the tents, provide showers, provide coffee in the morning, some meals and various other “luxuries” of home while still living in a tent city.
