Very nice video. I have done the C&O for 30 years now. I started exploring the sections of this trail that had opened about 20 years ago until I came one day to a pile of manure and hay completely blocking a section of the trail that was not that far from Pittsburgh and a screwball farmer? who threatened me and told me I was trespassing on his property. I’m glad that’s apparently over, the trail is finished and look forward to doing the entire trail later this year along with the C&O.

Thanks for watching and adding your positive comment and interesting experience with the trail many years ago. Fortunately, it sounds like the trail has changed a lot in the past few decades. This was a beautiful ride and also quite eventful due to some heavy rain/flash flooding during part of the ride. All part of the adventure! I hope you can get back out there and enjoy a better C&O experience. Cheers🙂

I planned for 5-7 days but ended up riding the GAP and C&O in 5 days. My entire trip was from Champaign, IL to Washington, DC. (About 1,000 miles). I was not trying to race or speed- just enjoyed being on my bike all day, enjoying the ever-changing and beautiful landscapes!😁🚲Thinking of doing the ride? Thanks for watching and commenting!🙏🏼

Appreciate the positive comment! I really enjoyed this ride- so pretty, peaceful, and lush green! I chose motels on this trip. Just the way it worked this time. Camping woulda been awesome too. There were plenty of options. The rainy weather potential was too high during my trip. I highly recommend ride and hope you can do it! Cheers!😎👊🏼

Cool video! 👍 Thanks for sharing. I really like the aerial shot at 4:50 👏👏. What drone did you use and how do you control it while riding like that? And where do you camp overnight? Thanks. See, I am planning to do a long tour and I want to record my trip like this video.

Hello friend! Appreciate the positive vibes! 🙏🏼😎Thanks for taking the ride with me! I was using the DJI Air2S. It has an active tracking feature that allows the drone to follow a moving object (me!). Works quite amazingly! In regards to camping, the weather dictated whether I camped or got a hotel. There are many camping and lodging options along the trail. I ordered a Trail Guide Map book that gave info about the trails. What trip are you thinking of doing? Excited for you! Keep me posted!👍🏼

Hi, Percent of paved trail to dirt trail?
@Iliketoadventure
@Iliketoadventure 2 жыл бұрын
Hello! There's about 15 miles of paved trail on the Pittsburgh end which extend just south of Mckeesport, and a couple miles of asphalt as you approach Cumberland. Some sections of the C&O Canal are being improved with the same crushed limestone surface used on the GAP. Mostly, the GAP is an awesome trail- highly recommend it.✌🏼🚲
