The cops in the back went from having DEGs to just regular guns. *No one uses the DEGs.* This show spent lots of time and episodes hyping up the threat of the DEG (and DEG 2.0 at that) only to use them on Thunder and Glaze to varied effect. They couldn't afford to have Lopez absorb the power from the DEG because then there would need to be a plausible explanation as to why she could absorb that energy and the city's electricity...but not Lightning's power. And this show didn't really have one they could lean on.

@@WannabeWRX This is a back-to-back compilation of scenes. In the episode, when Lopez shouted about them being next and they had the DEGs was at 26:42 into the episode. When we came back to the cops having abandoned the DEGs it was at 27:40 and after Lightning had reabsorbed her ionosphere double. So in the show universe timeline, it was likely at least several minutes later as Lightning would have to get out of the tunnels and fly to the shootout.
