Whenever I try to play the high D on the lead pipe, it tends to be not just sharp but a whole minor 3rd sharp. I try to lip it down but my horn wants to go back down to the G

Not the best lessons for beginners, you got notes written above and below the staff for beginners to try and duplicate. Beginners for the most part are just trying to get a sound out of the horn. And this video has them buzzing the leadpipe? How about them getting familiar with what the actual sound of the pitch of a note before buzzing the leadpipe. Sorry but this video is not geared for beginning kids.
