A great country singer and a great man Bill Anderson, saw him in person a number of times in Toronto in his early career, nice of him to do this tribute to Sheb Wooley, singer and Actor.

At the movies with my grandma---I'll always remember sheb wooley riding up to van cleef during opening credits of High Noon. they will be forever linked with the haunting song of High Noon sung by Tex Ritter. It was awesome for me to see these cowboys meeting up. Later on, and older I r&r danced to Purple People Eater at our week end dances in backyards or Wells Park Community Center. Those 2 cowboys in High Noon were locked in my memory. Before salvation came to our house, my "young grandma" enjoyed the honky tonk "venues/bars" of the 50-60's (dick bills) in albuq. we listen by radio and watched by tv --country music. enjoyed the tribute. thanks, gr-granny

Sheb was like an Uncle to me. He and my Dad grew up together in Oklahoma and he would visit us up in Alaska where he came up with the character Ben Colder. I was so confused as a child when he would be drunk one moment and sober the next. Miss him and my Dad more than words can say

As Weird Al did too pop music a country artist did to country music. Real name Shed Wooly as a drunk used Ben Colder. Rose Garden.. done as Rosies rose garden, Hello Walls... he goes stumbles into some bodies else home, Indian love song running Bear and little white Dove... he is at his girl friend's her husband comes home He is running bare down the road. I grew up liking most styles of music.
