you can't rattle a genius, the smartest people can control their emotions.
@joedemelfie55094 жыл бұрын
the smartest people also tend to be unsympathetic and ignore the emotional side of a healthy individual, which does cause major issues. ie Sheldon cooper... being emotional doesn't mean your dumb. it's how you act when you experience those things that shows your wisdom. he honestly acts like he cares less. that's not intelligence. more like apathy and arrogance. sure though, he ignores a lot of the media garbage we have today which most should do more of. but he acts like he lives in his own world. just fortunate he knows football so well or else he would be a herm met living in the back woods of Vermont without a care in the world living off the land. nothing wrong with it. but not exactly in turn with the community around him. could be better at it in football realm.

The greatest thing about Belichick is that he has a purpose for being so discrete with his answers. He does it so other teams don't have any advantage through media sessions or something a coach or player might say in terms of game plan. If you listen to Belichick in an interview non-related to his team or season, he is actually quite compelling and very informative.

Teams win Super Bowls, not just QBs. Those were 2 of the luckiest Super Bowls of all time. If Seattle and Atlanta just run the ball late in the 4Q like any idiotic coach should, Brady has 0 super bowls since that statement. Brady is incredibly fortunate to be a great QB who ALSO has terrific coaching/defensive talent behind him. Aaron Rodgers would kill for that.

Anthony Delmonico hahahaha. Ya what about the kearse catch? Was that lucky Brady? Or the Tyree catch? What about the Manningham catch or the Julio catch? Some times you win some and some times you lose some... that's just football. Was Brady not in the MVP race the last 2 seasons? Is Brady not in the MVP race again this season? Hell Brady came second in MVP votes in both 2015 and 2016 (got robbed both times in my opinion, his last name doesn't end in Manning). Where was Rodgers those two seasons? ohh that's right behind Brady. Rodgers finally got injured again playing with fire outside of the pocket and cost himself another season.

spud man Vince Lombardi is overrated. All of his famous quotes he took from someone else, and is only famous cause his team won Superbowl Fucking One. He was a good coach. Not in the top 20 by any means though.
@PhilAndersonOutside6 жыл бұрын
Vince was great, but it's not really close. He was winning when there was no free agency, and a mere 14 teams in the NFL (another 8, almost all inferior, in the AFL). Players were very tough then, but the level of parity was nowhere near what it's been over during Belicheck's amazing run. Halas, Brown, Schula, Landry, Walsh, Noll, Madden, Gibbs, Parcells, were all great, HOF coaches, but what Belicheck has accomplished tops all of them, without question.

Ok. This is far fetched but one time I was riding my bike to work during a transit strike in New York, a reporter rolled up to me on his bike while a crew was filming. The reporter repeatedly asked me about the hardships the strike was causing me. I kept saying, I was enjoying the break in the routine of public transportation, the fact that people were doing different things, sharing rides more and talking more with their neighbors, finding more alternatives to getting around, and I was actually enjoying riding my bike to work. So on the nightly news I watched the story it was all about the hardships people are having. So this is what news does, it starts with a storyline, and tries to support the storyline, rather than actually going out and observing what is really going on and reporting it. You notice a lot of reporters in these interviews can't seem to get off the track even after it's clear that line of questioning isn't going anywhere. Any one who interviews Bill Belichick should know what to expect and he loves to talk about football and there a multiple ways of reaching him there, and he is a truly brilliant man who can be very charming but he does not suffer fools gladly. Its sad to see so much footage of this brilliant man's live wasted by inept reporters that want to create news rather than report the news.
@randyneves97016 жыл бұрын
Doug P the thing with Belichick is he when anyone asks a question that has actual thought to it and is about the sport Bill will give an upmost answer on the question
@spareplanet6 жыл бұрын
Doug P, your observation is true. A valid point. I think what you're seeing is partially human nature in general, not just reporters. For example, you also locked in to your narrative -- that journalists behave a certain way -- and proclaimed that ALL journalists act that way, and ignored any evidence to the contrary. Not criticizing you, or defending reporters. Just an observation. Also, in the case of the writers, their job is to search out drama, to create content beyond the scoreboard. So, yes, they probably go too far, quite often, in terms of "inventing" stories, but reporting only what happened between the lines, the same thing everybody saw on TV, would be boring and pointless and probably go unread. So, there's a kind of a balance, there. Things aren't always black and white, 100% right or 100% wrong. Oftentimes, there's two sides to the coin, and finding a happy medium is the best you can do.

I love when BB starts talking about football, by that I mean like his LT story. That peek behind the scenes he sometimes gives us, like times when he's mic'd up and is shooting the bull with players, even on other teams. I think the NFL Network should do a half hour weekly show with Belichick when he retires where he just talks about the legends of the game that he's coached, that would be fascinating.
