As a diehard Seahawks fan I hear this and I think two things.... 1. Bellicheck is healing praise before they play him to try to get in his head and give the patriots an advantage. 2. Bellicheck is being honest about his opinions and knows that he can’t blamtantly recruit Russ as a free agent in a couple of years so this is how he’s doing it. He knows Russ wants to do more than be a QB on a run and play defense kind of team and he’s saying... hey Russ, I think you’re awesome... just sayin... we like to throw over here sometimes... wink wink.

If Belichick says Russ is probably the best player in the league thats good enough for me, and should be for anyone. Mahomes is great but has literally started 2 years, with a good O Line and great weapons around him in an Andy Reid offense. Russ has been playing like an MVP consistantly under a trash O Line and Pete's dinosaur Offensive scheme since the back half of 2015. Oh, and hes never missed a game, and literally missed 1 snap in his first 8 years in the NFL.
