After seeing 6 Super Bowl parades, 4 World Series titles, an NBA Championship, and a Stanley Cup since 2001, I have nothing to complain about in the sports world for the rest of my life. I remember how bad Boston sports sucked in the 90s, nobody was winning anything.. and the 80s, when the Celtics won three titles but no other Boston teams did. Sure I'd love to see more Championship, especially this Celtics team, but it's hard to complain after so much success.

@@AidanHollandsome context on the Bruins: In the 2018-2019 season, the Tampa Bay Lightning was the best team in the regular season of the NHL with 62 wins, equalling the best regular season mark ever at the time (with the Detroit Red Wings of 1995-96), and crapped their own pants in spectacular fashion in the playoffs: swept by 4-0 in the first round. They won back to back championships in 2020 and 2021, and had the chance of a three peat in 2022, losing the Cup Final to Colorado. The Bruins last season had the best regular season ever, with 65 wins in 82 games. They lost their way in the playoffs, losing the first round series by 4-3 after having a 3-1 series lead, with Linus Ullmark, the best goaltender all year long, having really bad games. People nowadays have such a short everything, short attention span, short patience, short memories, etc. I keep telling people that Belichick is what Bill Walsh is to the 49ers. If the Niners ever had the chance to keep Bill as long as BB has stayed in NE. Niners management would have loved it and would have stuck with him forever! You have to know greatness and hold on to it. It's a lifestyle and it only gets passed on to the people who stay around them. If you let it go, that greatness fades and dissappears from the team from top to bottom. This is what happened to my NIners. Once BIll quit we were only able to sustain it for a few more years and the greatness dissappeared (for many many years).

"A little rough water"? They're 2-8. They're the worst team in the AFC. they were 8-9 last year. This is well beyond "a little rough water". They blow. And belichick has a done a HORRIBLE job of constructing and coaching this roster. That is a fact. If any other team was in this spot, their coach would have been fired. What he did 20 years ago doesn't matter at this point. It matters for his "legacy" , but we're in season....so your legacy can wait until the off-season or when he retires. I just don't understand why he gets a lifetime pass? When are we allowed to look critically at him and ask of he's the right person for the job. Now burr's Q of "who are you gonna replace him with?" Is a fair question. I would assume they would promote someone to "interim head coach", just like every other team in football would do. Again, why are the patriots unique or exempt from following traditional Norms that other teams follow?

I will always agree that Brady has more to do with the pats Dynasty than Bill, but its a 60/40 relationship. Does Brady go to the Superbowl in 2004 If a Billy B Doesnt design a D that stops Paytons MVP 49 TD season. Does first Year Tom win a Shootout with the Greatest Show On Turf, Does Brady Beat the Rams if Belichicks Defense doesnt hold McVays offense to 3 points. Anyone Who says Tom is the only Reason for Bills Success is Insane, belichicks defenses have been stopping the Greatest offences in their Tracks for 40 years. They literally beat the Steelers without Brady playing and smothered the rams and held them to 3 points in the super bowl for 3 quarters and got a pick 6 Brady only scored 13 points then in 03 and 04 that defense shut down a red hot Payton manning and held him to 3 points in 04 they had so much talent on those defenses and the 04 team was the most complete team of that run before the 07 team. The 2010 teams were more offensive focused but the 2018 team had a dominate defense and running game and held the rams to 3 points

Thank you so much for FINALLY a good take on that Seahawks play. If they give the ball to Marshawn there and the play is stuffed... they lose because running clock and time runs out. If they passed and threw incomplete, they still had a chance to run another play and STILL could have given it to Marshawn on 4th down for the win Unfortunately, the worst possible scenario happened, and the rest is history. I'm sure throwing an interception has higher rate than fumble, but a fumble could have happened as well.

@taylorheavington5627 Жыл бұрын
@@mrcnub You are right. I was thinking it was 3rd down with no timeouts instead of 2nd down. The logic still stands though....You could pass for an incompletion and then run on 3rd down, call time out if stuffed, run on 4th down. But yes, with a timeout it might have made sense to run on 2nd down, call time out, throw on 3rd and if you didn't score on an incompletion, you then had the playclock to call your last play. Point being that with 20 seconds left, throwing was absolutely on the table. It was just a worst possible case scenario that occurred, which also can occur with a fumble on a run play.
@mrcnub

@taylorheavington5627 The 2014 Patriots were 28th in the league in stuff percentage on opposing run plays and dead last in power situations (3rd/4th down with two yards or less to go, or runs within two yards of the goal line), allowing 81% conversion on those plays across the season. The 2014 Seahawks offense was the second best in the league in power situations. It was one of the few instances in that matchup of one team's strength lining up with a glaring weakness of the other team. It's one yard and it's for the Super Bowl. No need to overthink this one. With those two teams, in that situation, giving it to Lynch was the slam dunk call. (And if you've really decided that you just need to throw on second down for whatever reason, at least come out with a power formation, use play action, and roll Wilson out instead of a frickin' slant pass into traffic on the goal line.)
