Pull the electoral college.. let real population decide. Like everywhere else.
@adb8883 күн бұрын
The electoral college was set up by people that felt that the general populace was stupid - then they went about making sure they remained stupid. Colleges, were originally setup by elites to make sure their children were treated differently - didn't matter if those children were idiots or not. Same thing with a lot of unions - sure, they had legit reasons to protect workers, but initially (and to this day) a lot of them only protected certain workers. MAGA, GOP, and Conservatives are all-in for dumbing down the populace. Burning/banning books, banning the teaching of certain subjects in school that are beneficial to youth (sex ed for one), and a bunch of other things they don't want people educated on - a dumb populace will vote for whoever tells the best lies that align with their somewhat dimwitted racist views. Also, get this right - the Democrats are only marginally better than the Republicans. Corporate greed, corruption, PACs, Super PACs, etc., have made sure that one way or the other, politicians will toe the line for the most part - no big changes allowed.

Honestly, America never left the plantation mentality. It is still the one rich dude in the big house owning the workers by having control over their food, work, healthcare and housing. Putting pressure on any of these keeps the workers docile. They made a mistake putting pressure on all four with food starting a few years ago and now you see people start to snap. Think of the concept of a velvet noose and apply it to the western world since ww2. This inequality of wealth and power isn't new, it has been happening for decades. Americans are told almost daily by the lickspittle lackeys (elected representatives to Congress) of special interest groups that, "America is the greatest country on earth and in the history of the world". Most Americans are prepared to go along with this, as it instils in them a sense of pride and superiority over every other country, which makes up for the actual and real problems in American society: the inferiority and exclusivity of healthcare, dearth of affordable housing, overall poor system of education, rampant drug addiction, and out of control gun violence. All whilst the political and economic elite can afford the best healthcare and housing, do not face the threat of both gun violence and drug addiction to the same degree, and can educate their kids at the top universities (which, let's face it are pretty much reserved for them anyway - deservedly or undeservedly). After that young person saying they wanted afford a house, it was more affordable under orange man, it's going to be a lot more expensive under orange man because of the tariffs he wants to create.

I corrected that... It was more affordable Under him but not because of him

The statement is untrue!! I tried to buy during 2020. Everything went up because of the pandemic (under Trump) and it has stayed up since then!! Saying things we're "cheaper" under Trump is a lie!! Presidents do not affect overall housing prices, by the way.

He sounds more what a politician should sound like, and the politicians sound like a comedian.

Fascism sneaking in.

@@fryque No need to sneak. The American electorate has the collective IQ of a small salad bar. We've seen people on camera with the funny SNL guy, saying it's fine with them if Trump wants to be a dictator.

Trump's White Supremacy Buddies will gladly throw him in there.

The one thing that's always true I think, is the fact that nothing lasts for ever. No kings, no nobility, no slavery, no oligarchy even the US oligarchy. No matter how strong a system is how incredibly opressive it might be, nothing lasts. Might take a long time for changes to happen though. But they do happen eventually. Kings ruled for thousands of years at almost everything. Till one day they didn't.

The Democrats don't see the need to change. People seem to like the idea of a Trump presidency more than the reality of one. People voted for a Democratic House in 2018 and a Democratic President and Senate in 2020. The Democrats don't see the need to channel Bernie Sanders or AOC when they just have to sit back for 2 years and let actual GOP/MAGA governance make their electoral case for them.
