The reason the airbag was put for the driver first is because even with a seatbelt, people were still hitting the steering wheel. There wasn't a steering wheel on the passenger side. Long long time ago, before seatbelts and collapsible steering columns were a thing, people would die in car accidents when their chest was caved in from slamming into the steering wheel.
@davestang54549 ай бұрын
True. Actually it was their HEADS hitting the steering wheel because your head snaps forward and down in a collision.

100% agree with Bill Burr on Stephan Hawking. Not sure many people get this take. Hawking was put on a pedestal BECAUSE of his infirmity, not because of his "genius". Nobody dared to call Hawking out for making stupid comments and treated everything he said with reverence out of fear of being judged. If Hawking had been an able-bodied person he would have likely behaved like a hundred other snotty, arrogant culturally leftist science snobs who we could actually challenge and call out instead of treat like a god.

I remember going into adult movie stores in my college's days to buy or rent DVDs. Just filled with shame and stress, never make any eye contact with anyone, not even the clerk. And if it's a woman clerk, just walk out and get nothing. You can go back later and hope it's a guy. Then, when you get home, you hide it from everyone and hopefully remember to watch it when no one is around, cause often times, you didn't own your own TV. Sometimes you forgot and have to pay a bunch of late fees. Kids these days need to be grateful for technology advancement that my generation created, so you will never have to experience that.
@gracesprocket734010 ай бұрын
TBF the driver was sat 'impalement ready' right over a rigid steering column. He really needed the airbag rather more than the 'gonna smack a flat panel' rest of his family. Better brakes and tyres to avoid the collision in the first place... as well as crumple zones to absorb and spread out the collision were useful too... but seatbelts had come in before airbags and made occupant safety somewhat better.

I like how you sort of give a defense of enjoying Bill Burr. You always have smart things to say but I found this kinda funny like: "Yeah, let me tell you why blow up dolls are funny....". Well, they are. It's endearing that you're so on point with your wrap up: "Well, looks like nuclear winter won't be so bad this year, now back to you Ken".

Never bought a blowup doll, but totally remember the whole buying shit at the sex shop, and he is telling the truth!!! But you pick a really seedy looking place hoping nobody you know would ever dare to go to the same place. You calculate the time and date when nobody else will be there, and you wait for 10 or 15 minutes to give anyone else time to leave if they were inside. Then you make your move! Anyways, long story short, back in the day there was no anonymity. No discreet packaging. It took guts to do it, and you could literally hear your heart beating so loud, it almost drowned out the salespersons questions. Bill Burr has for sure done this! 100%.

There still was the postat order where you put down you order on a form, the posted it then like 3 weeks later the stuff turned up at your local post office and you need to wait like 3 hours to take it out. Then a bit later (probobly the 80s, maybe earlier) you could tone dile the order from a catalog or in some case even from telltext. Amazing future technology.

Omg it's hard hearing the tonal shift haha I tried slowing it down but I guess it was just pitch shifting not a speedup to get his voice that way. 😅 I get the copyright bs but it's fair use ffs I hate that KZbin doesn't follow its own policies and makes it difficult for creators to react to anything. Really it's the goofy copyright holders. If people are spending time to watch a clip and react to it all they are doing is basically free advertising. They are just amplifying the art they are reacting to so anyone with a functioning brain would want more people to become aware of said art. Especially when it's only a snippet of a full piece. I know that if I had heard this for the first time and only got this 10 minute clip I'd immediately want to watch the whole thing and I would go support it. But let's be honest most of us that watch reactions just enjoy watching people respond to the art that we enjoy. It's this innate desire to share what we find moving and interesting with someone who is new to it and receptive to the viewing. Cause let's be honest most people you try to show idk a song to for example aren't that interested because it's not their idea. I never understood that mentality I love hearing new music and art especially if it is shown to me by a friend. But most people don't pay attention or critisize new art when being shown to them. Maybe it's ego or maybe it's a desire to know it all or maybe they just weren't in the right state of mind to appreciate what they are being shown.. 😅 It's just a thing I've noticed being a musician for 25 years hahaha it's hard to show a lot of musicians new music and they are usually very judgy. It's also a thing I've noticed with people where you ask them if they have heard of a band and they say yes and you know they are lying then ask their favorite song and they can't name anything. It's such a common bs occurrence. I don't get it. I wish people were more straightforward and honest. If you don't know than say so and if you just don't care to learn or hear it..... Just effing say so. I personally wouldn't care. I know I can be overwhelming because I love sharing art with the people I love especially when it moves me 😅 and probably more annoyingly when Im a bit inebriated. "bro you gotta check out this part of the song". "did you hear that riff man? Let me replay it" hahahaha maybe I'm the problem 😅
