Feminist ignore all the things Gentlemen use to do: He stands when she walks in the room He walks by her on the outside, closest to the street He opens the door for her He pulls out her chair He sits after she sits He helps her put on/take off her coat He doesn’t walk ahead of her He gives up his seat to her if there is only standing room He carries her bags He picks up the check He holds an umbrella over her when it rains He gives her his jacket He walks her home or to safety He brings her gifts/flowers ______________________________________ Imagine if we switch the genders... feminist would lose their minds. She stands when he walks in the room She walks by him on the outside, closest to the street She opens the door for him She pulls out his chair She sits after he sits She helps him put on/take off his coat She doesn’t walk ahead of him She gives up her seat to him if there is only standing room She carries his bags She picks up the check She holds an umbrella over him when it rains She gives him her jacket She walks him home or to safety She brings him gifts/ flowers

I believe he said somewhere that he loved the fact he could just say whatever he wanted more so because it was through a cartoon than people seeing another person ( himself ) and then judging it, but for some reason in animated form its easier to digest. I get it, i mean they still critique the shows but still. Love that show haha and bill burr is a fantastic voice, in this dire age.

To me, It seemed to fly past your head when Bill talks about being left on the titanic while women and children get to leave. It's called "lifeboat etiquette", women and children come first when a ship needs immediate emergency evacuation, or at least, that's what I can recall. I'm not sure if those standards are still prevelant today. Edit: I should watch that cartoon too, never have.

It's not marriage, it's our culture's approach to it and romantic relationships in general. Marriage doesn't magically make a romantic relationship better or worse. Our idea that we need to do many/most things with each other or that it completes us or that one person has to be all things to us....these are the problem. We have so many bad and even toxic things that our cultures have developed connected to these kinds of relationships. We have to unpack them. People in the polyamory community have been unpacking and repacking these messed up concepts for awhile now. You don't have to be polyamorous to do those things. Although being able to have multiple partners would help a lot of people out. Doensn't have to be sexual but there is a lot of sexual needs and preferences that need to be scratched. If the person you want to share a house and kids with isn't into your kink or hates taking vacations abroad or isn't into live music or whatever or maybe you aren't into living with other people or your bi or asexual or your partner is. Some of that you can do with friends, some with playmates, some with friends with benefits, and some you can do with other serious partners that you live with or don't. The fn world is your oyster and the main reason marriage and romantic relationships are shit is because we so narrowly define how they should look and be composed. Free your mind and the rest will follow.

Btw, just a heads up 😊. No economist believes the pay gap even significantly exists. They got that number by not sorting between which job, and how many hours worked. Actualy misogynistic bosses hiring female workers and underpaying them makes up about an estimated 0.002 % of the pay gap. Don't quote me on the number though, I can't remember the source. I just find it annoying that this myth never seems to die down, despite it having absolutely no legitimacy. Even the feminist economists don't support the claim, so how hasn't it died yet?

The wage gap argument washes out with these facts, women usually go into different career choices than men e.g. teachers, nurses, social workers, etc. while men choose engineers, plumbers, financial planning and dangerous jobs such as mining, oil rigs, long shore fishing, all which pay more. Men and women do get paid the same for same job, education and field, but men usually miss less work and work longer hours. So the details matter to the wage gap argument. I am a woman so ...

No matter how many times this wage gap claim is decisively refuted by economists, it always comes back. The bottom line: the gender pay gap is simply the difference between the average earnings of all men and women working full-time. It does not account for differences in occupations, positions, education, job tenure or hours worked per week. When such relevant factors are considered, the wage gap narrows to the point of vanishing. Wage gap activists say women with identical backgrounds and jobs as men still earn less. But they always fail to take into account critical variables. Activist groups like the National Organization for Women have a fallback position: that women’s education and career choices are not truly free-they are driven by powerful sexist stereotypes. In this view, women’s tendency to retreat from the workplace to raise children or to enter fields like early childhood education and psychology, rather than better paying professions like petroleum engineering, is evidence of continued social coercion. Here is the problem: American women are among the best informed and most self-determining human beings in the world. To say that they are manipulated into their life choices by forces beyond their control is divorced from reality and demeaning, to boot.
@tillmen4444
@tillmen4444 2 жыл бұрын
And that's not even taking into account that in Egalitarian countries like Sweden, and Norway where there are no gender stereotypes, a Greater Difference in men's and women's career choices can be seen. An in addition doesn't account for agreeableness which effects your willingness to ask for a raise, so we can have the same job and experience, but if I'm more willing to ask for a raise I will be paid more or get a new job
@halosaft
@halosaft 2 жыл бұрын
@@tillmen4444 As someone from Sweden, I have *no* idea what you are talking about when you say there are no gender stereotypes here... If I were to take it at face value it must be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard in my life. But I hope I'm wrong.

@@aliamvickersfan2388 Ah. Basically there's a small difference between the temperatures that tend to be comfortable for men and women. Women are comfortable at slightly warmer temperatures than men... maybe it has to do with body size or something? I dunno... and generally air conditioning in, like, offices and such is set for temperatures men find comfortable, meaning that women often feel cold in climate controlled work spaces.

I love the scene where "non-descripts white man bangs off the propeller." Makes me laugh every time.

I love that you're watching Bill Burr's content, he's one of the greats of comedy, an absolute legend. And yes, he helped create, write, produce, star in, etc, etc, F Is For Family.

This is his comedy without the steroids of his curse words too, I'd recommend stuff where he's not censoring himself for the venue/job

Yes he is from F is for the family. He is producer of that show and its based on his youth. Also the next thing you should check out from him is the "epidemic of gold digging wh**es" and you dont have to worry about copyright from him. he said once that if its older than 6 months he does not care since he already made money of it.

Yep, I knew he said the 6 month thing, I just couldn't remember where I heard it, to source it to someone else I mentioned it to.

While I love his "dollar an hour surcharge" reasoning, I'm sure he knows there's no actual wage gap. There's an _earnings_ gap, which is completely justifiable, but no wage gap.

Bill Burr is great and I respect all of your reactions. You should check out his helicopter story next if you have not seen it yet.
