Bill Conner, donor dad meets heart recipient, Loumonth Jack, Jr.

Bill Conner of Wisconsin rode his bicycle 2600 miles across the country to honor his daughter and raise awareness about the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation. Bill’s daughter, Abbey, died in January of 2017. She was an organ donor. On Father’s Day 2017, Bill heard his daughter’s heart beat again.
After biking 1400 miles through several states, Conner stopped in Ventress, Louisiana to meet his daughter’s heart recipient, Loumonth Jack, Jr - also known as Jack or Roppy. Roppy suffered a heart attack at the age of 20. Doctors gave him days to live. Without Abbey’s heart, Roppy wouldn’t be alive today.

I am a donor mom. I've never met the recipients of my son's heart, liver, kidneys. Only a kidney recipient has reached out and we've only communicated by social media. Im thankful for her acknowledging my son's family. It saddens me to have no idea how his heart recipient has done. It is such a major part of who my son was. ❤

I am so sorry for your loss. It has to be the ultimate horrific life experience. I have three sons. I feel the same as you that the recipients should acknowledge and want to know about the precious or trim that died but most recipients are so desperate for donors and pray every day for the organ they need with no thought to the donor or his loved ones. It’s selfish I personally could never allow doctor to keep my son hanging on to life with machines while they look for donors and my consent and then preceded to kill him to harvest his heart which must be very fresh and still beating while they cut it out. . I would never allow them to carve up my child ever.God gives life and takes it away. These people are like vultures and my fellow nurses are ghouls who call motorcycle drivers donors. Well they won’t get anyone I love as spare parts.
