As great as the Beatles were there is nothing the Beatles recorded that was as inspiring complex and profound as Tommy. Or as beautiful complex as Quadrophenia. And in between The Who released their Whos Next In 1971. First saw Quadrophenia in San Diego in 1980 It started a whole new mod craze in England and also here in Southern California. Quadrophenia is a great story and like many, I could really relate to the character of Jimmy. Great documentary although I can never agree with Townshend regarding Keith Moon as a drummer, without him; The Who would have sounded lightweight and would have been just another Kinks clone band.
