Bill Forrest - "Disney Girls (1957)"

In my very top 5 Beach Boys tracks, and also one of Brian Wilson's favorites, this was not composed by Wilson whatsoever, but solely by Bruce Johnston, a replacement for Wilson after Wilson's late 1960s infamous nervous breakdown.
I recorded this last Fall aboard The Liberty of the Seas.

Thanks for the comment about my voice. Falsetto is always a challenge, especially pitch wise. Nervous energy from performing before an audience often makes me play things faster than I realize.

You're misremembering what actually happened on that occasion, which was a late-night piano bar gig. You and I went there together from the house on Broadmoor. In reality, you didn't even notice Bruce had walked into the bar because you were playing and not paying attention. I'm the one who saw him come in with some other people, and they sat at a table. I walked over behind you, whispered that he had just come in, and pointed out his table. I was also the one who suggested that you play "Disney Girls", since I knew he wrote it. After finishing the song you were playing, you started in on "Disney Girls", whereupon Bruce looked up and said, "Hey, I wrote that song!" Then he walked to the piano and played along with you. That's actually how it all went down. My memory is better than yours. 😁

Awesome. It must have been September 29th, then. They played at the Palmer Auditorium. The show was originally scheduled to be at Auditorium Shores, but was moved indoors due to bad weather.
