No doubt about it, this video represents a period in Bill's music that was particularly exciting and innovative-this music certainly captured me at the time and is still fascinating. A fantastic upload that registers a great jazz talent.

I fell like they start to gel at 2:15 and slowly get better. At 4:05 we start getting comfortable with tone then it's just a great ride the whole way through. Thanks for the good stuff.

I love this group too. I was just thinking that it would have been great if back in the 90s Kermit Driscoll and Flea could have gotten together. Kermit could have given Flea lessons in jazz bass and Flea could have given Kermit lessons in how to look cool on stage.
@nmnahf41633 жыл бұрын
Teach Flea how to get off drugs, to be just as passionate without them, for teach Kermit to paint her hair in colors. haha nah, It is perfect just the way it is. (:, If Kermit had taught Flea something else, the universe would have exploded. And if Kermit had colored his hair, he might have married with our girl. v: The catastrophe was avoided. /: But Pat Metheny should have taught Joey Baron how to style his hair. V:

This band is, in a funny way, a little like the mid-1960s Miles Davis quintet. It wouldn't exist without the leader, and the great compositions are key to the music's success...but it's really the drummer's band :). I'm mostly kidding, but Baron is like Tony Williams...for better or for worse you can't stop listening to him. I love the way Williams and Baron are able to do this and keep it musical.
@jibsmokestack13 жыл бұрын
Agreed except that the Davis band would definitely have existed without Miles. Freddie Hubbard in his place would have been logical.
@SebCo7710 ай бұрын
Miles brought them together, he was the catalyst, their mentor. I wonder who was the catalyst for this music here. Bill for sure, but also John Zorn, or it might go back to Paul Motian's Electric bebop band: "I want guitars!"

This is amazing! Yesterday I came across the video of "Amarillo Barbados" (from this concert), which I had downloaded years ago, and I thought: «Damn, I wish I had the whole concert!". Today I looked for some more videos from that gig, and it turned out that YOU (oh, my sweet embraceable you! ;)) uploaded it just YESTERDAY! THIS IS LUCK!
