@@offduty5126 The rule is there so you don't damage equipment, but that should be for people that just drop it straight from the top. What he did was not egregious. Also, that reminded me of Beni Magnusson's WR raw deadlift.

There's a gym I used to work out at that he visited once. He bent a pan with his hands to show how strong he was and the gym hung it up on the doorway to the weight room like it was a sacred relic.

If he would have had the same tools at his disposal that modern strongmen do such as proper strict diet and training regimens, knowledge of all the physio and recovery methods and all the enhancements of modern athletes, god only knows what limits Kaz would have been pushed to given such aid. He was benching 300kg with pure brute strength decades before what our current understanding of sports science and nutrition is today. Not only would he more than likely be a 5x plus wsm champion if he wasn’t banned, if he had the same availability of resources that Brian Shaw and Hafthor had a 400 plus lb modernized Kaz would no question be benching almost 800 raw.

I remember Bill Kazmaier from the Worlds Strongest Man back in 1979. But I also remember Bruce Wilhelm and Don Reinhoudt who I considered just as strong because they won the first 3 WSM. Those 3 and Paul Anderson are the Mount Rushmore of strength.

You missed the time in Pure Strength 1989 where OD dropped a barrel over a railing, and went down some stairs to get it. Then Kazmaier, OD's teammate, pushed a competitor carrying a barrel and the guy dropped the barrel over the railing and it hit OD down below, almost killing him.
